Re: Edit post processor to increase dwell time

Hello everyone. I have searched unsuccessfully for the code to increase the dwell time at the beginning of a program. My spindle needs more time to come up to speed before the tool engages the material. I also use other software and the post processor has a graphic utility where you can input thing...

Re: Posting to CENTROID Acorn using an ATC

Have you set up the ATC on the Acorn and are you able to change tools using the M6 command in the MDI panel?

Have you modified the mfunc6.mac macro in CNC12 for the tool locations?

Re: Looking to hire someone to design a 3d model

I will already need to purchase a Next Wave Shark HD500 as it's accurate within 0.03mm rather than my Shopbot which is accurate +- 0.18mm or 0.007". If you are looking to produce these and have consistency you may want to consider a machine which has limit switches and can consistently home to the ...

Re: Arduino, GRBL, Experiences So Far

I have not found a way to home one axis at a time using GRBL. Not sure that is real important, but it seems to me there have been times I only wanted to home the Z axis for some reason. Maybe getting too aggressive on a plunge and losing steps? Some of this might be doable depending on what flavor ...

Re: Cutting 2.5 inch hard maple

Are you able to do a two sided job? You could cut your profiles larger on the second side and trim with a flush trim bit, and on the holes (pockets) make the second side pockets smaller then flush trim with the router. I have a 1/2" x 2" spiral flush trim which works well.

Re: First Experience cutting 6061 Aluminum

For aluminum plate hold down we prefer the blue tape and super glue method. Bits we use the TiN coated carbide 3 or 4 flute and run between 10K-12K RPM. Feed and DOC depends on the size of the bit. Lubricant we use denatured alcohol - dries and does not interfere with the waste board and recently pi...

Re: Shapeoko XXL Post Processor

You didn't mention which G-Code sender you are using for GRBL. You will still need to zero your reference for the new tool. There are controllers such as the Centroid Acorn and ATC spindles which are capable in effect of what you are asking, but they are a significant investment above the Shapeoko a...

Re: metric on the fly

If you type in the value in the box , and multiply by i equals, the programs will calculate and convert

for example if you type in "19*i=", the program will calculate 0.748031"

and going from inches to metric is ".748031*m=" will calculate to 19mm

Re: Problem cutting clipart.

You may want to see if the mfg has a support forum. If you are running a GRBL controller, Github has a wiki on how to view your settings and also what each setting is in relation to. Look at your Z axis motor, lead screw, and coupler. Does your stepper motor have a flat for the set screw and does th...

Is this a fish in a dish model or a fish model being placed in a dish model? Was your eagle in a dish model which you carved?

If you are trying to place a model in a dish, there are additional steps you need to take, including adding zero plane, merging models, and creating a boundary vector.

Re: USB Mach3 Stepper Motor Motion Control Card

You may want to consider Centroid Oak or All-in-One for five+axis. Their Acorn has been very solid, as has their control software, and it supports ATC.
