Re: V12 COMING APRIL 2024 🎉
I'm sure they will release it when it's ready. I don't need to do any unnecessary rework just to get a product early. Sure. But be realistic. Even the best tested software will have one or the other bug. The trick is to release it when the usefulness of the new features is bigger than the risk of a...

Re: V12 COMING APRIL 2024 🎉
For those of us with V11.xx, and cannot upgrade now for the $50 savings, it is like a penalty or tax for having the latest version.
Perhaps Vectric could offer those of us with V11 choosing to upgrade a preorder price?

Re: Dovetail drawers
Just hoping to offer a dovetail drawer option. for customers who ask/want. And I use undermount slides, so I need to have my bottoms dadoed .5" up from the bottom. A vertical work holding surface is beneficial for doing Dovetail Joints on the CNC with a Dovetail Bit. Vacuum holding jigs are also a ...

try to find a natural transition in the model rather than splitting an area of focus.
For example, try rotating your model so the seam is at the edge of the flowers rather than thru the middle.

Re: Keyhole bits keep breaking
Check to ensure your stock isn't moving and check your plunge rate.
We cut towards stops on the spoil board so the stock doesn't move in the direction of the cut.
We run keyhole slots at 15 IPM, 13.5K RPM, 5 IPM plunge rate. Takes a little longer, but get clean cuts and no broken bits.

Re: Surface Mapping (Centroid)
Have you checked on the Centroid forum? There was a thread there about using the surface probing and using g-code ripper IIRC to import into CAD programs.
Had the need prior to getting my Acorn machine, haven't had the requirement after getting it.

You can also file a flat on the stepper shaft for the set screw to help prevent slipping.

Re: speeds and feed rate for cutting ceramic tile with a cnc router
why not get diamond sponges to sneak up on the final dimensions? Ceramic tile is notorious for chipping out. If you score the top cut out with a diamond point scribe, then cut with wet saw shy of the final dimension, then use the diamond sponges with water to finish the edge. You can get a set of th...

Re: Drilling Randomly Spaced Dowel Pin Holes in an L shape on X and Y Axis
Hi Guys, Just a quick question, I have made a file to cut the holes at the required size, If I need to adjust the size either way, Is there a way in the finished file to adjust the circle diameter without starting again? Thank you so kindly Use the pocket allowance in the tool path to adjust tolera...

Re: Drilling Randomly Spaced Dowel Pin Holes in an L shape on X and Y Axis
Just be aware that wood dowel pins will swell and change dimension with humidity variances. I use fluted 8mm dowel pins for alignment on double sided jobs and just make an 8mm pocket in the spoil board. I figure the fluted dowels will be centered enough when driven into the pocket and it holds the m...

Re: GONKS derivative
Any suggestions on adding more to highlight this project? Looks great. For highlighting the detail you could try to add some tint to your finish to make a glaze and wipe it on an off so it rests in the details. Paint pigment ( sold at big box stores ) or Trans-Tint dyes may work, best to experiment.

Re: Stucco textture
I use texture toolbox extensively but the run times get a bit out of hand. I think Im on the right track with the applied stucco but thought someone may have some good options. Thanks You may want to look into EIFS texture and color coat for the stucco, it is usually acrylic or latex based and appl...
