Re: Profile on toolpath help

With multiple passes with an open vector on the vector passes will go in opposite directions without retracting. As the bit is in contact with the material all round there shouldn't be any difference going in different directions. You could do it as two separate toolpaths with the second one having...

Re: Profile on toolpath help

I think I mis-spoke as far as the solution working. Looking at the gcode, it appears that it is still machining back and forth instead of going from left to right, lifting and returning to the left for another pass.
Here is snippet of the code as I am not at my machine right now.

Re: Profile on toolpath help

Thanks, that seems to work. Is there a way to complete one depth from top to bottom instead of completing total depth of cut on one line before moving to the next?

Profile on toolpath help

I am surfacing multiple slabs with epoxy and I am finding my surfacing bit cuts better when going from left to right. I would like to have it do profile on cuts going from left to right and then raise up and go back to left and make another pass. I do not want it to cut in when going back to the lef...

Awesome. What a treat to be able to visit the Master of all things tiny and detailed! Scott has a knack for bringing out the fine detail and isn't afraid to share it with everyone.

You can export and import toolpaths as templates. When you import you will be given the option to apply to all sheets.
Thanks Adrian. I will give that a try.

Not yet, maybe V11 will offer it. You can right click the layer containing the vectors and click "Select Layer Vectors" option
Thank you for the work around! Hadn't thought of that.

Laser module Vector Selection

Is it going to be possible to select vectors, using the laser module toolpaths, by layer and also associating with toolpaths like other non laser toolpaths?

Re: Experimenting with Laser Add On

Looks great!

How close to the material do you have to focus your laser? With the JTech lasers, your focus is 1/8" off of material which can cause some issues when trying to follow a contour with the Z axis.

Thanks for the explanation. It looks really clean. Like the fact that it is not visible from the front too.

Always looking for new ideas.
