Re: Puzzle Joint Generator

What screen resolution are you running? The save should be under that About button but from what I can see the program doesn't add scrollbars if the vertical resolution is too low to display it and requires a vertical resolution of at least 900px to display properly. My screen resolution appears to...

Re: Lounge Sign

very nice ... how big is sign and what was the carve time
Thanks for the comments. The sign was roughly 24x24 and took a total of 4 hours to machine. I (and the customer) was very happy with the results.

Re: Offset Finish Toolpath

Yes - create a more uniform boundry vector around your model.
There is a tool to do this create boundry x.x and select rubber band function
That worked perfectly! Wonder why it has to be a "rubber band" boundary to work, though..
Thanks for the quick reply!!

Offset Finish Toolpath

Is there a way to force a Offset Finish toolpath to start in the center of the object and work its way to the outside? I have tried both climb and conventional directions with no difference in starting point.

Design help

I have been asked to carve this design of the Mesa AZ PD logo. I imported the bitmap and created a model from that bitmap. If I make it an add component, the cactus stand proud (like I want), but if I make it a subtract component, the text stands proud (like I want). How can I get the cactus to stan...

Re: Zank inlay when background is stained

I have had some luck protecting the surface by applying Oramask 813 before vcarving the female pocket. I haven't tried this on a stained surface, but it helps in preventing resin from getting where it shouldn't. Just a thought..

Re: Sharpening Ball-nose

I have not used any of the inexpensive 'Chinese' cutters, but wouldn't be opposed to giving some a try. Any recommendations for tapered ball nose sets, metric or imperial??
Thanks

One would think if you live on a lake that you would have fish in the freezer, but I haven’t had much chance lately to fish.

Lounge Sign

Project finished up last week for a local resort's lounge. Designed in Aspire, created using cedar wood and finished with spar urethane.

Also used the new laser module on my cnc running Linuxcnc machine control software and a JTech 7W diode laser.
