Stairway to heaven

I had an order for a stairway to heaven. The only thing I modeled was the steps. I cut Jesus out of the last supper and the clouds were in those western/wildlife scenes on design and make. I just noticed I need to hide the hem of the shirt with another cloud. Overall, being pretty new, I like it.

Re: Probably user error just don know VcarvePro v8.509 NEWBI

When it happened to me, I had it set to 80 inches per second thinking I set it to 80 inches per minute. You can check the individual tool by air cutting some other project with that exact tool. If they both freak, it is the tool definition. Delete that tool from the database and create a clean versi...

What is your cut rate? The IQ has a limit of 100 ipm. If you go too fast it loses its mind. Been there done that.

Memorial for Vietnam Nam veteran. 1st Cavalry

The background is Brazilian Cherry with ebony, yellow heart and maple inlays. The photo was a 1960s era photo so it was not all that crisp. And the end result of photo carve reflects the quality of the image I had to work with.

Re: Photo vcarve finish. How to cut and finish.

I run at 50 inches per minute. That one took a little less than three hours. Just all depends on how detailed you want your final product. I have experimented with a single pass rather than cross hatch and with the step over as small as I use it is not necessary to run cross hatch.

Laguna postprocessor for 4th axis?

I doubled down and sold my Laguna IQ HHC and bought a Laguna Swift HHC with an extended gantry and a 4th axis. I go to postprocessors only to find out there is not one in the list provided by Aspire. I emailed support and they suggested I contact Laguna, but they are closed for the holiday. Would th...

Re: Tool for photoVcarve

I have had good luck with one eighth ball nose. They are available on eBay for the price of ten bits for fifteen dollars. I set my spacing at six percent. A have friends wo use v bit's and set spacing to 100 %. They cut pictures very fast compared to my method. both work but give unite different res...

I bet all you need to do is put sanding sealer on before you put your stain.

Photo vcarve finish. How to cut and finish.

I know I was frustrated when I tried my first several. And I could not locate really good advice on cutting and finishing. So, here is what works for me Cutting. Depth of .03 for dark pictures and .035 for lighter pictures. Spacing I go 4 to 8 percent, but 4 does look better. Do 60 degree crosshatch...

Second photo, first two rail sweep.

A friend's father passed away so I snagged this pic off of his Facebook feed and sent this to him. Cut at .035 depth, 1/8 ball nose, 8%, 65 inch per minute, double crosshatch at 60 degrees. Put two coats of sanding sealer, then four hand wiped coats of burnt umber glaze, let them dry a few minutes b...
