Re: Union Stars not same size

The controller program for the first cnc I had would take 5 readings across the workpiece which helped in carving on an uneven board. It worked really nice and had the side issue with it that you tend to not make sure a board is flat to the bit. The cnc and service from the company that made it were...

Re: Importing Adobe Illustrator file challenges

Funny, I had posted to this and it's not here. I'll try again. I use Aspire and have issues with some ai files not even opening. Aspire does the blink thing like it's opening. I take those files into Inkscape and convert them to either svg or pdf files. After opening the ai file in Inkscape I click ...

Re: Sign up for our 2020 Worldwide Virtual User Group Meeting

Reviewed the schedule and it's has an awesome lineup. I'm glad I'll be able to watch as needed since it seems I'm working 7 days a week.

Re: cutting wrong diameter

Don't get too frustrated. You have an excellent machine and the Vectric software is great. Hopefully you're using the Axiom HHC CNC (mm)(*.mmg) post processor, at least I think that's what you mean by saving to the correct machine. I'm like gkas and think you have a sizing issue. Once you get over t...

Re: Down Loading Projects

Excellent suggestions and comments. Another resource that my wife bought for me is Professor Henry's Guide to CNC Sign Making. And, no I don't get any royalties, commissions or even doughnuts & coffee for recommending his book. It's a quick read but has some very useful information in it.

This is gonna be interesting. I have a bunch of agate pieces my wife got for me a few years ago and haven't had the opportunity to do anything with them. Keep the pictures coming.

Re: Golf trophies

I had a project a while back on which I used Corian similar to yours. I use a polishing/buffing paste that I make from mineral oil, bees wax and diatomaceous earth (food grade). It does a great job of making things shine and helps to remove small scratches. I typically would use it with a random orb...

Re: Lounge Sign

I was fortunate to have been able to attend one of the InFisherMan weekends with Pro and Celebrity fisherman at Camp Fish. My first outing was with Dick Sternberg who put together a very nice series of fishing books. We caught a ton of walleye during about a five hours period. I did the same the nex...

Re: Baby girl nursery name wall-hanging

Our Pre-school Acting Director introduced Lucy, her daughter, to me yesterday. She is a sweetie. I may just use your wall-hanging as a starting point and make one for her. She is their youngest and the only girl. Love the sign.
