Re: Serious Problem - Code or Controller?

I had static problems and ran a wire through my dust collection hose to the dust collector grounding screw. Haven't had a problem since. I did connect it to my dust collection shoe mounting plate at the spindle. Wish I had done this before I ruined a very nice spalted pecan board. Lastly, since I'm ...

Re: Put that sawdust to a good use.

Yep, that's what we needed. I've shared it a bunch. Thanks and I'm back to the shop to make a couple extra rolls extra splintery.

Re: Frontispiece

Awesome. It likes something that was made back at that time with the staining, rays in the white oak frame and just all of it. How did you do the nail heads?

Looks like you off with a pretty good carve. Only thing is the bullet hole or bad cancerous mole on his forehead. Must have been what done him in. lol. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Rotary - Ice Cream Cone

Thank you very much for sharing this project with us. What with the virus affecting us all and some personal health issues in my family the ice cream cones gave me a big smile. I'm also headed to Culvers.

I agree with Michael. Glad you posted it. I've been trying to convince that mean woman I live with that I need to get a lazer.

I can understand the 2-sided since they are recommending we use both sides of the paper. Not sure about the no-hole part of it. Lol......

Re: franctions to decimal

Hey Xxray, I'm not math impaired. I can count to 2. It's funny that I still pull up the Microsoft calculator to do these. I'll try to remember this and use the shortcut next time. Thanks for the information.

Re: Wood for boat sign recommendations

Another wood to consider is Eastern White Cedar (also called Northern White Cedar). I purchased around 200 board feet of it from a fellow who bought it to repair a small sailboat but leaving the area. He purchased it from a supplier to boating in Rhode Island.

Re: Dust Separators

I have a similar setup to gkas with the Oneida Super Dust Genie. Only time I get in trouble is when a planer is used and I don't monitor the waste being collected. It backs in the hose for the cnc until it meets a gate and then is forced to travel to the dust collection bag. My dust collector is a S...

Re: Life is a burl of cherry

Ted beat me to it about his contact information. I would have probably been tempted to buy what he had (or what I could within my meager budget allocated by that mean woman I live with), especially since he was asking $10 each. That's a beautiful chunk of wood and I'm glad you figured out something ...

Re: Zank Inlay serving tray

Sounds messy but a lot of fun. I'd probably use my stand-along router with the larger base to remove the waste on the oval bowl. That's messy as well but I have a large, gulp type of dust control hood that I move near these projects. I also take most of my dusty projects outside the shop and have a ...

Re: Made a few things.

Ollie, thank you for sharing your projects. They really look nice other than,,, I'm one of those folks who has difficulties reading open/close/hours signs on businesses. Not sure where yours will be but the color and striping make it difficult for me to read.
