We have added 2 features recently that may help with this a little bit,
Thank you, Mohamed.

The tool database has been my main concern. I'll give that a try. That's what I get for not reading release notes!

User-Defined Folders

I raised this a few years ago, but met resistance about its implementation. For the 25-30 years I've used various software, I've always appreciated being able to define the locations of associated files, as in SketchUp: Screenshot 2020-07-07 18.54.52.png This would be helpful in many ways, not the l...

Re: Text Scaling Issue/Question

Bingo, Stu!

I did exactly as you said and the text box worked as you said it should.

Shoulda known it would be something simple and it sure was!

By the way, my name is Bill. I use my wife's name, Bobbie, in most of my testing so she knows I'm thinking about her! :)

Text Scaling Issue/Question

I'm testing a rotary axis I added to my laser engraver. The rotary is driven from the Y axis. Everything is working electrically and mechanically. I set up a drawing and am befuddled by what's happening. My work space is 3" long with a diameter of 1". The text is aligned along the 3" on the X axis. ...

Jewelry Cabinet With CNC Elements

I recently finished this jewelry cabinet for my wife after many years of design tweaks. It consists mostly of routine woodworking efforts, but is enhanced with elements designed in VCarve Pro and made on my CNC. Here's the overall look of the cabinet. JCB_a-sm.jpg A look from above showing the bow f...

Re: Laser

I have the 4.2w J-tech and for what I use it for it is great, but its driver is not variable power ... I'm just learning my way around the JTech 2.8w laser. It appears to use the same driver as the 4.2w and is variable power. It uses the PWM signal from a BOB to control the power level. My system i...

Re: 3 watt laser

The instructions for you laser should provide that information. Example: I recently set up a J-Tech 2.8W unit on my CNC. Its instructions say it should achieve proper focus between 1.25" and 3" from the surface of the material. I currently have mine set at about 1.5" and adjusted the focus to provid...

User-Defined Folders

I recently installed the latest update to VCarve Pro v9.5 and was pleased to see there is a 'Laser' tool that can be defined now. I have been using an end mill definition modified such that it used parameters that worked for my laser. I'm just starting to learn laser engraving and every little bit h...

Not knowing the specifics of your setup, I cant answer for sure.

I use VCarvePro 9.5 to create my drawings and the J-Tech PP that eliminates any Z movement to create gcode.

Re: Laser in Tool Database

Vectric mentioned a laser module “coming soon” so I guess that is what it is for. I have mine set up as an end mill currently and it work fine with the quick engrave toolpath. I am eagerly awaiting the release of the laser module to see what functionality it adds. I had not heard about a 'laser mod...

Laser in Tool Database

I've searched for previous posts like this and haven't found an answer, so bear with me. I'm using VCarvePro v9.5 to create drawings for my new laser install on my CNC. I've been using a regular engraving bit tool to create my gcode and it's working fine. Then, I saw that there is a provision to set...

Re: Strange Occurance

UPDATE: I ran some tests today to determine what caused my issue. Although I had run some larger curved parts at the 100ipm feed rate with no problem, I slowed the cut on this smaller piece to 30ipm. That made a difference in the accuracy, but I also spotted another factor. When going to the Toolpa...
