Vectric responded within minutes and got me all straight. I now have the upgraded version.

Upgrading to 8.5
Hello, I bought my Vectric software as a package through Rockler with my Axiom router. It is registered under my name and I have the license code. I'm trying to upgrade to 8.5 but I need a user name and password on the https://portal.vectric.com/login website? Can anyone help me find out where I mig...

Re: Tiling or copying with tools path associated with it
Thanks you!!! You saved me hours of work. Darrin You need to associate the toolpath with layers by using the Vector Selection feature at the bottom of the toolpath setup. With that setup and set to automatic you can then re-calculate the toolpaths for all the tiled or nested items just by clicking t...

Tiling or copying with tools path associated with it
I've just spent a few hours meticulously designing my *model*. It has several tool paths associated with it. I now need to take this 5" model, and tile it across a 2'x3' work piece. The problem is the tool paths are not going with it. Do I need to tile or array my model and then apply the tool paths...

Re: Curved surfaces
Mark, I checked out that project and it worked great. I just copied the dome onto my project, copied my vectors to that layer and used the roughing tool path. It gave me the curve that I was looking for. Thank you everyone for getting me in the right direction. Darrin pretty sure you could do that a...

Re: Curved surfaces
Thanks Joe, Your edit is exactly what I started trying until I ran out of time at work. I think it started coming nice so I'm going to run with that. Plan B will be the 3d clip art, I can probably get that to work too. Darrin there are a couple of 3d domes included in the clipart. you could try and ...

Re: Curved surfaces
Thanks 4D,
I guess my next step is to try and make that handle a 3D model? I will be tiling these on 2'x3' sheets of phenolic material so every bit of help will save me hours and hours of band sawing.

Curved surfaces
My next challenge is texturing a curved surface. For example, the handle on a kitchen knife or a tactical fixed blade. The area in the center is proud, then tapers as it moves to the ends. I've tried every tool to include the Fluting but I can't seem to find the right thing. The Fluting is close but...

Re: outer perimeter cut out
Adrian, Thank you so much. I did not know that about the trial version but you were spot on about the joins. There were several different vectors I didn't realize even though they were grouped. As soon as I joined them all it was good to go! Thanks! Darrin No-one but you and Vectric staff can read a...

outer perimeter cut out
My CNC is arriving tomorrow and I downloaded the trial software to get familiar with it. I've imported a .dxf without issue and I'm trying to work the outer cut with tabs. The software wants to do part of my pattern on the outside and part of it on the inside. I have Outside / Right selected but it ...

Re: Tool path for identical objects
Arrg, The trial version I have will not open the file, your version in newer. That's OK though, I know now it's possible and when I get my HD with software Ill be able to knock out handles in mass.
Thanks!
Darrin

Tool path for identical objects
Im buying a Shark HD but wanted to learn the software first so the learning curve is short once I get the hardware. I imported a .dxf I use often, it's a 2d profile of one of my knife handles. I was successful and created a tool path to profile it out, with tabs, and holes for the screws that hold i...
