No, I haven't tried that - thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Beer Taps - Part 2

Much obliged for the detailed laser info. I have a ShopSabre machine running WINCNC so I think an add-on laser would be difficult to do. Another concern I have, is that my gantry is heavy steel so I don't think the mechanics would like thousands of rapid, short moves typical of laser engravers.

Re: Beer Taps - Part 2

The laser assembly sits 1/8" above the workpiece being burned as it's focused 1/8" below the bottom of the protective shroud. I made a rough measurement for you and you'd need 85mm minimum from the bottom of the chuck to the top of the workpiece. Thanks for the info. A couple of more questions if y...

J-Tech Photonics 4.2W spindle mounted laser.
Very nice work! What Z clearance do you need for this laser?

I like the wide outside space because my eyes don't have to travel so far on a wide screen monitor to read the text. Like others have mentioned, the white background seems a bit harsh. All other improvements are great!

Re: Wooden top for bandsaw

I've attended this guy's presentation at the Woodworking Show that tours many U.S. cities. I tune my bandsaw using his method (tooth gullet at crown of wheel) and get no drift whatsoever.

Re: Blanket Chest

Thanks, guys. Here's the info on the "dovetails." The front is cut vertically thru a hole in the bed. Getting the board plumb and indexed properly for cutting must be challenging, I don't see any stops or plumb adjustments. One clamp doesn't seem adequate to prevent slippage during milling. Can you...

Re: Circle resizer Gadget

OK, I finally get how it works thanks to everyone's help. Of interest, after successfully running the gadget on a test file, I closed out and did not receive a warning to save because the file had changed. Maybe that's a characteristic of gadgets in general?

Re: Circle resizer Gadget

The script is looking for circles to be resized therefore if there are no circles selected/highlighted the requester pop-up comes into view. It is just letting you know that the next time you run the gadget to be sure to select the circles first. Sharkcutup I get that but it doesn't answer my origi...

Re: Circle resizer Gadget

The advantage of the gadget is it's a one step process whereas with the offset you have to use the vector selector first to select which circles you want. Of course if you're doing all of them then they're as good as each other. I get this dialog box if I don't pre-select the circles even though th...
