Re: Several Sheet Sizes for Nested Parts

Yup. That sounds right. If it cannot nest all of the parts, you get an error message. What I then do is to NOT select the larger parts during the nesting process. Moving them over to one side helps me visualize this and keep things organized. Then, I try nesting the smaller parts onto the scrap. As ...

Re: Several Sheet Sizes for Nested Parts

OK. I have an older version of the software. Mine has the option for "First vector..." Now you have me wondering... I just downloaded the latest Aspire Trial Edition. (I have an older version of VCarve.) The checkbox does say "Last vector..." So, modify the nesting steps to select the parts you want...

Re: Several Sheet Sizes for Nested Parts

Let me try. Here is one way to do it. First job: The parts nest onto 2 sheets. Cut the parts. Now... 1) Make the Default Sheet the active sheet. 2) Import the parts for the Second job. They will appear on the default sheet. Some of them may be outside the boundary of the sheet. This is the same proc...

Re: Several Sheet Sizes for Nested Parts

Nat, That is why Adrian was doing the "cut-and-paste" part. The software will only nest the parts that exist on the "Default Sheet" when you click on "Nesting." The only problem I would have with this is if the parts being cut-and-pasted are made up of different layers. They would all paste to the s...

AR,

Try a search on this forum for "puzzle joint" and you will find a few things that may be helpful. It might be worth a try.

You might also try the same search over at the ShopBot forum talkshopbot (dot) com

Re: new use for Corian scrap

Norm, Creative and very nice on the eyes. I like the gentle flow of the curves. I have some scrap corian in the shop that could benefit from a new home. And, so could my wallet. :D Question: Where do you sell these? OK, maybe not the specific place, but what type of venue? I am guessing that you are...

Steve,

Could you tell us what material was used for the muntins? Solid wood? Species? Other material?

Beautiful piece of craftsmanship! Thanks for sharing.

Re: VCarve Pro V6 Released!

Thanks! What a great early Christmas present.

The "Vector Selection Order" feature within Toolpaths alone will save me countless HOURS this coming year. And, will help me avoid many mistakes.

Thanks to the entire Vectric Team, once again. :D

Re: Several of my designs

Do you also have recommendations for inexpensive starter cameras? In regard to editing photos, I have Adobe Creative Suite 2 with both photoshop & illustrator. I use illustrator primarily to create my designs; so I am more experienced with it. Photoshop should give you everything you need. I have n...

Re: Several of my designs

Thank you, Charles. I'll admit I know little to nothing about photography. Actually those pictures are the pictures that the VCarve program gives us instead of an actual photo. I'm going to save your suggestions to try after I get the website fixed to my satisfaction. I should have been more observ...

Re: Several of my designs

I worried that changing the color would create a false perception in the potential customer. What do you think? Laura, Very good point. "Under-promise. Over-deliver." In other words, be sure that the final project looks better than the rendering. Well, with Vectric software: make it look at least a...

Re: Several of my designs

My website isn't fully up to standard yet, but I feel my first set of designs are. I thought I'd share two of them with you. I haven't quite figured out how to photograph the finished product so it looks right. The photos all look similar to the sample image in VCarve. Laura, What would happen if y...

Adrian,

Thank you.

This software is so powerful, and has so many features, I thought I was simply overlooking something. :?

Re: Can Groups in DXF be imported into VCarve Pro?

Will the toolpath template allow me to specify the order in which parts are cut? If not, then I will simply resort to manually toolpathing the final cuts as I do now. But, the rest of the template process WILL speed things up. Hi Charles, There are options in the profiling toolpath for controlling ...
