Curved face and rabbet Mission Drawer Front
I am trying to create toolpaths to carve a convex face on a Shaker drawer front. The outside edges to be 1" and the center 3/4" when carved. The rabbet in the back is cut such that once a panel is installed in the frame, there is an even 1/4" reveal face to panel viewing from the front Any ideas on ...

3D Carving results less than desired
I have carved an acanthus leaf in hard maple. The finished carving shows obvious heavy lines where the toolpath pattern changed orientation. The center vane was way distorted and I had some burning even though the router was set at the lowest speed. Also, I set the profile cutout allowance offset to...

I am looking for someone who can take an image created in Adobe Illusrator and
create a file that I can open in Aspire 4.5 or 8. I want to be able to change the font, size, etc and run it on my cnc machine.

Can't find tooldatabase
Trying to import my Aspire V4.5 tool database into V8.
When I click on import and try to navigate to the Aspire 4.5 database, it is not there.
Tried turning on view hidden files, still can't find it.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Re: V Grooves and text too deep
Thanks everyone for all your help.
It looks like the drawings in Aspire are correct and I now see how the z indicator works in the preview.
I will now turn my attention to the machine Z. The problem must be there.
I will post my findings.

Re: V Grooves and text too deep
Thank u Joz but that did not fix my problem.
Did as u suggested and it still carves as b4 with no change.
There is no way I can post this file. It is 5MB & this site will only allow 2MB.

V Grooves and text too deep
I am Using Aspire 4.5 and I can't figure out why my v grooves and text are carving so deep.
I set the vectors for the v groove to 1/8" apart but it carves about 1/4 deep.
Text is also carving too deep and the lettering turns out unreadable.
The tool parameters appear 2 b o.k. ???

Re: V Carve Depth Problem
Thank U Gc3 and Turtle49.
I forgot to add a second vector to get the V carve to cut correctly.
I'm a 72 yr old newbie and just can't remember all these rules.
U guys saved my day.
Thanks again
