Re: Adaptive Clearing strategy in Aspire 11?

Adaptive clearing was just a fancy way of saying a roughing pass. Aspire has roughing and finishing pass.

Re: XY Datum Offset

here is an example - but it would only pertain to a production run. If you have a design you're cutting - say it has a critical drill hole and profile. You find the hole is .002" from where it should be in the Y axis. You would simply offset the Y axis that much so that it moves into the correct pos...

Re: The woodwork Galleries in USA

well this certainly brings up the "craft vs art" discussion again doesn't it? No arguments please. It's really difficult to find galleries that offer wood art as they consider it 'folk' art or craft. I remember the struggle many woodturners went thru getting into galleries 20 years ago. Yet the wood...

If you own version 10, upgraded from previous version or not, you can get version 10.5 at no additional cost.
Dang! I love these guys!

Re: 10.5 is COMING SOON - Watch this space

Anyone who owns a licensed copy of the version 10 software can get the 10.5 version at no additional cost. even an upgrade to 10 is a licensed copy. So it Sounds like the definitive answer is: anyone who bought a NEW version 10.0 at full price gets the free upgrade. Everyone else is a paid upgrade.

The .5 version is always free, you will have to pay to upgrade to 10, but 10.5 will not cost anymore.
is this also true if I paid for the upgrade from 8.5 to 10?
I'll definitely be in line either way.

Re: XY after bit change moves

your origin is the same regardless of the endmill. Try zeroing the x and y after the endmill change. Assuming you haven't moved it, it should now definitely know it's zero. If it still does it, then I would suspect program error (check for offset).

Re: photocavre compatible programs

I have used Carbide Motion before on a xxl. Once all the initialization is done you should be able to just Load and Run. You'll know you're initialized correctly if it homes to the right place (machine home and where you pick the starting point), so that is a good place to start. Also make sure you'...

Re: How do you Home a 4th Axis

Aspire is not a controller. it is basically a program generator. However, the gcode
G91 G28 A0;
is generally used. Include it in your own gcode.

Re: NEWB question, moving head at end of job

Submitted with NO guarantees. Take a look at the end of this Shark File: Capture.JPG Presumably it has moved to the defined safe height just before this. This line moves it to the job home (which in this case was the lower left hand corner but could be anywhere). If you're feeling adventurous you ca...
