Very nice. Can I ask what these are sitting on when the photo was taken? It looks like bark but not sure.
Thanks

Re: When profiling a 3D sign, .......
Good info everyone. I appreciate it. I'll try what you said Cowboy1296. And thanks Dave and BArnold. I've seen the last pass option but never tried it. I will now though. Thanks again all.

Re: When profiling a 3D sign, .......
Thanks Dave. I'll try that. I'm not sure if I could offset the original profile toolpath by a fraction to see if that would work. But not sure if there is an option to do that.
I see we're practically neighbors. I'm over in Bunker Hill near Inwood.
Thanks for the reply

When profiling a 3D sign, .......
Hey folks, I have a question that some of you may say has an easy solution. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. When I profile a 3D sign and add tabs to it, I get a lot of chatter around the edge being profiled. Whether it is 3 passes or whether it is 7 passes to cut through the board. Is there a way...

Re: CNC 101 question ---multiple circles
What do you use for the key "chain"? I normally just use the ball chain. Not sure if that is the correct name for it or not.
Are there any pics of your cribbage boards on the forum anywhere? I'd love to see them.
Thanks
Richard

Scott, I am assuming that the first two photos are buttons. Can I ask what the third photo is of?
Thanks

Thanks for replying.
I would just hope there's no power surge after I pause it. Would hate to lose what's been done.

Long run times for finish pass
For those of you that have long run time for finish passes on your 3d carvings, say...10 to 20 hours. What do you do ? do you pause it and come back to it the next day or?????? Just curious as I remember seeing a post that said the finish pass run time for someones project was 20 plus hours. Thanks ...

Re: Raised lines left on 3D carving. Am I missing steps?
ok, here is an update on the raised lines on my carving. A while back, I discovered that the x and y axis cables had melted together. Contacted New Wave, they sent out new cables and motors. Anyway, I never replaced the z axis cable and motor so I decided to do that. With that done, I took the same ...

Does anyone create custom 3D files for a fee?
Just wondering if anyone does custom 3D renderings of a picture or drawing. Would like to have something done.

Re: Raised lines left on 3D carving. Am I missing steps?
That is funny. But I was working on other stuff in the shop when this was running so can't be that. lol Think I will re-do the carving just to see if it does it again. What harm can it hurt?
