Re: Hooked on miniatues

Hi Scott,
I use the tapered conical finishing tool to do the cutout and leave small tabs - just a couple of mm thick (around .1 inch) which seemed to hold them ok and then cut these with a knife. I also cut slowly on the profile to make sure the force is low.

Re: Hooked on miniatues

With regard to signing the back of work, I often engrave directly into the piece and I've also got a pyrography pen, recently bought a branding iron from ebay here in the UK which you can see the result of below. Much quicker and they are relatively cheap and come in a variety of sizes. In terms of ...

Re: James is moving on!

I'm very grateful and humbled by all the kind comments on this thread. It would be hard to put into words how much I've enjoyed the last 10+ years of direct and indirect involvement with Vectric. One of the main reasons is the unusually large number of nice people who seem to be Vectric customers. T...

Mayan Calendar

After being involved with CNC software for well over 20 years I finally had an excuse to make the Mayan Calendar as my daughters class were studying it at school - I wrote about it on the Vectric Labs Blog here: http://vectriclabs.blogspot.co.uk/2016/ ... endar.html

Re: 2016 User Group - Live Stream Demonstration

In response to Michael - we are broadcasting in 1080 HD so that would probably look best. I'm glad the sound/picture was clear.

Re: 2016 User Group - Live Stream Demonstration

Thanks Hermie, Paul, Michael, I appreciate the feedback and would welcome any other viewers letting me know how the experience was at their end - good or bad (I can't do anything about my accent though). For me it was surreal as I was using the PC we normally record videos on - it was only as I star...
