You did it.. These last instructions worked. I finally understand now. I tried it on a couple of different files and it worked every time. I can cut a piece wherever I want by myself now. It ususally takes a while for something to sink in to my brain but once it does, I can usually keep it in. thank...

Chuck, I'm going to have to give you a raise. I just got through cutting out the parts per your plans and it turned out perfect. I sure appreciate your help. I do not fully understand how you did it --yet, but the main thing is I got it done. I played around trying to figure out how you did it earli...

That was a quick reply. Thank You. I am trying to get this in my head. I took the original file. Left clicked on Node Editing. I went to the top line in the piece, right clicked and then left clicked on "insert a point". A little black box appeared on the top line. I then went to the right of that l...

Dividing a piece into

I have a piece I am trying to cut but it is to long for my machine. The piece is over 40 in long and I can cut 36. Is there a way to cut the piece in two parts and then I could put the two pieces together to use as a pattern to cut out one whole piece manually using a pattern bit? My table is open o...

Thanks, Les and Tony. I must not understand closing vectors just right. I started with the open vector tolerance as .1 and then went up to .2,.3,.4, etc. and it would not work. I didn't try to go less than .1, I just thought anything less than what I entered (.1) would close.

thanks again

Hooray, Vcarve opened the dwg files I was trying to import. That will save one step. Now let me ask a stupid question - why are *.dwg files an option in the pulldown menu to import but they don't show up in the directory?

I appreciate your help, thanks

import dwg files

My dwg files are not showing up when I try to import them into Vcarve. I am going to the import button and then clicking on the drawing files in Vcarve but the dwg files do not show up in the directory that they are located. The dxf and pdf files show up. I can go to explorer and the dwg files are t...

Paul, I have a few questions.. 1) There is an extra outline on your inlay butterfly that is not on the pocket cut. How and why did you draw this line? Do you do this on every inlay? 2) What is the difference in the start depth .2 and flat depth .2 and not just entering .4 in flat depth to start with...

This looks very interesting. I appreciate you sharing your ideas with the rest of us. I know I would have never figured this out myself. Could you post new instructions like the ones in the original post? I see where the original instructions have changed and want to make sure I do it right the firs...
