Re: another litho
Yes have to agree with the others, very nice job, only thing I am not 100% sure about is the white line you have at the edge of the rope border you have put on but guessing there isn't much that can be done about that. That's not a rope boarder I have put on! Its the stepover of the cutter that mak...

Re: Xmas decorations
I use european oak, it does have a course grain but still engraves ok, maple and cherry I have found are the best due to the fine grain.

Re: Hurricane and subaru litho
i use pure white led strip lights around the inside of the frame, and a sheet of reflective paper glued to the mdf backing board to help reflect the light into the middle of the litho, otherwise you get a halo affect in the middle.

Re: Motorbike pvc
I apply sanding sealer to the wood before engraving, I find it helps keep the wood intact on the edges of the engraving especially with text if using a small font, plus it acts as a barrier for any over spill of wood dye that I apply to the engraved areas after machining, then sand the whole item an...

Here is another unique use of pvc, solid wood coasters. The engraving is protected by a 3 mm piece of acrylic to stop spillages.

Re: Large litho question
I've just had my last litho warp and ruin the piece, so machining a large one complete would have its issues, also I agree the run time would be asrtronomical.
My thoughts were of sub frame to hold each piece, like a stained glass window.

Re: Large litho question
Yeah, Ive heard about the corian glue, and I did think that the joins would have to be absolutely perfect. Had no specific size in mind, just thought what would the possibility be of.... A large litho bigger than my current machining limitations. But then again I suppose I'd just get a bigger machin...

Re: Xmas decorations
Thanks for the information about the size etc. What settings do you use on PhotoVCarve? Mark Using a 1 Ballnose, 1.5mm depth, 10% step over @ 33deg line angle. I use the same setting for all my pvc's, it can result in lengthy run times but well worth it for the end result. What software are you usi...

Re: Xmas decorations
Very nice and a great Christmas gift. The size looks pretty small compared to the red Bulbs. Can you tell us what approximate size they are and about how long it took to run? Did you use a 1/16 Ball nose bit? Thanks, Mark Thank you all, for your comments. These have become very popular, I tend to u...
