Re: 3D Daisy

Steve, Thanks for taking a look. My drawing was based off a very old plinth block my friend found in an old house and are looking at staying with that pattern. I like what you did though. Jim, I think you may have gotten me off center. I still have a lot to do for the finished product and I will lik...

3D Daisy

Good evening everyone, Been quite a while since I have been on here and really just getting back into working with my machine for anything but 2d cutting. Have upgraded to 9.5 so I'm current and struggling with a project. Since most of the 3D work I've done has come from projects from Design & Make,...

Re: VCarving Kudasia Font

That's pretty much what I'm getting too. I guess I need to make a phone call and let them know we probably need to change the font if they want it be the end of next week.

thanks everyone for your input,

VCarving Kudasia Font

Been away from my machine for a while (6 years) now but after Cincinnati I'm ready to go. I'm running a ShopBot PRT with the new control package and VCarve Pro 6.5. Now that the machine is moving and without any practice, I offered to do some plaques for some folks. I had them all sent to me in DXF ...

Re: How do I cut back and forth on a single line?

Viktor,

Thanks for all the help. If I understand the ramp method, it is simply making the ramp length the total length of the vector and adjust the angle to achieve the desired depth per pass.

Re: How do I cut back and forth on a single line?

Thanks for all the reply's. Machine is cutting, so this project is going to keep moving, but it sounds like there is more than one way to skin a cat. Curtis, No reason for not doing the area clear, just didn't know. I've attached a preview of what I'm cutting, so maybe I should look at that as an op...

How do I cut back and forth on a single line?

I'm hoping I'm simply missing a setting here so I can speed up my process. Cutting a vac plenum. MDF for material. Series of straight lines. Cutter ramps in at one end and proceeds to the other end then jogs back to the start point for the second pass. How do I make it cut in both directions? Thanks...

Group, Toolpath, Array? What order is best

Evening all. After a 4 year hiatus we finished setting the PRT up today and are getting ready to cut. Updated VCarve Pro to 5.5 and sat down to draw some parts for a learning robot project my son is working on to teach kids about robotics. Parts will be cut from either 3mm (1/8") Sintra or ABS. Ther...

Hi Dave,

If you don't figure it out email me your information and I will do it for you in AutoCad and send you a dxf in the morning. dovetail_7@hotmail.com

I'm living in a hotel for the next 2 months and am having withdrawal issues so helping you would be like therapy.

try searching for scan 2 cad or scan to cad and you will find several options for software to do that.

Have never tried them, so you will have to check to see who has trial software.
