Re: Cleanup Profile Toolpath
Hi Mark, As I understand you have text (raised text?) and component modeling in a dish (inverted dome) and you want to run a profile around the outline of the letters and model? Did you try to create a vector boundary around the components and letters and use the option to project the profile toolpa...

Re: 3D Busting bits
I'm not sure I'm following you exactly, but here is what I do to make the leaf. I don't do a roughing pass, but use a 1/4" ballnose in an offset finish path so it is only taking a bite the size of the stepover on each pass and a 1/4" bit is plenty strong for that. If you are doing a roughing pass an...

Re: Tramming Spindle
I cannot add to these good suggestions, but after tramming as good as I can I can still see telltale cutter marks, visible but with infitesimal depth. Now I wonder if it's just the nature of a cutter to leave some small stepping as it rasters.

Re: 8.5 user interface slower?
Chris,
I am running Aspire 8.5 with 4 GB RAM and an Intel Core i5 @ 2.4 GHZ and 64 bit. It works fine, but I've been doing some Extremely High resolution work and that did slow down the machine as expected. The Vectric website says 2GB RAM minimum for Aspire.

Celtic Cross
I was reviewing a video of how I made a miniature Celtic Cross, in preparation to make another, and thought the forum might be interested in how the Aspire clip art Celtic weaves were incorporated into the cross. The miniature version was made as a retirement gift for an Anglican Priest, who happens...
