I have done this with a spring loaded diamond drag engraving bit loaded into the collet of my spindle. To hold the flask I used two pieces of wood providing tension against the flask on all 4 sides, worked out great and my friend liked the personal touch..

I have been following the threads on this and the vcarve forum and finally took the plunge to create a edge lit night light for a friends daughter that just had her 4th birthday and she loves Hello Kitty, I also milled the base out of a piece of redwood with an aluminum cover plate on the bottom.......

Hey Gil, When using the airbrush it is still difficult to stay in the line and some does overspray so yes I do have to do some light sanding to remove it from the flat top surfaces. I am sure someone that is more seasoned with using an airbrush can paint it with more precision as the airbrush is cap...

Thanks for the nice comments ... @glenninvb - I used an Air Brush to do all my painting put a few coats and then finished it with a clear shellac. @rscrawdford - I am a software developer by trade so that helped a bit also the GRBL gCode documentation is relatively good but it took some studying and...
