Re: Opening a PDF of a Drawing
Thank you all!
I think I will put this one to rest. Seems it's not feasible to pull anything usable out of a PDF without ridiculous amounts of time.
Thank you for trying to help me figure this out.
Happy New Year!

Re: Opening a PDF of a Drawing
I was under the impression that Aspire can open a PDF which then could be traced to create vectors.
Maybe I have misunderstood this?
Thank you for your help,
Lynn

Opening a PDF of a Drawing
Hello All, Attaching 2 files. I cannot open the attached PDF of a plan for a P51-D Mustang. There are 2 pages of the drawing. When I attempt to open it, I am only seeing a gray background, and cannot see the drawing itself. (Attaching screenshot) What am I doing wrong? I have searched through older ...

Re: Problem with subtracting an object to make a pocket
Hi Steve, Baking didn't work. I'm not sure what resolved it but now when I use the subtract function it subtracts the shape with out adding the subtracted shape to the bottom of the part below zero. Maybe this was just a weird one time glitch. I really appreciate your help and ability to visualize w...

Re: Problem with subtracting an object to make a pocket
Thank you Steve,
I will give that a try. I don't remember ever subtracting and having it add on to the bottom. Maybe I just never noticed. I'll let you know.

Problem with subtracting an object to make a pocket
I am drawing a Prism object that is supposed to be 6" tall finished at the peak. One panel of the prism needs to be recessed evenly by 3/8". So it would be 5- 5/8" tall at the peak. I created the entire shape to be 6" tall and then created a shape 3/8" tall on the lower panel which I then subtract. ...

Re: Post Processor
I'm not sure if my lathe post is as up to date as your missing post. I worked with the gentleman you mentioned. He was a dear friend of mine. I can send you what I have and we'll see if we can make it work for you.
Question, did you save a backup of your post that you can't find?

FYI to any FAGOR users, If anyone is running a FAGOR controller, you may or may not know that the "Z" will need to be inserted after the incremental "J". If you try to run it as X Y Z I J you will get an "incomplete coordinates" error. The order of your posted code should look something like this: G...

Re: I purchased vcarve and i cant download it.
In this situation, I would purchase a disc drive that you can plug into a USB port on your computer. I think you can pick up a disc drive for around $25 or so. Unless something has changed, you will be able to register your software once you have it installed using the code that came with the softwa...
