Re: Torchmate Postprocessor without ATC?

Thanks Adrian,

We did that and got it working. We had to adjust the Z axis velocity slower, because the torch moves faster than a router but that was the only detail we needed to adjust.

Re: Users group 2010 Fireplace picture?

Thanks Tim.

Actually I was referring to the front of the unit where instead of mitered angle you used a straight line.

Users group 2010 Fireplace picture?

I remember attending the Vectric Users group meeting in either 2010 or 2009. There was a fireplace on display at that meeting, I think maybe Jim McGrew made it from James Booth design. Does anyone know if there is a picture of that floating around somewhere? I remember he joined the parts in an unus...

Re: Aluminum parts with Aspire

The Haas uses a flood coolant system. I used a .675" 4. Flute bit.

Aluminum parts with Aspire

I cut my first aluminum parts from start to finish using Aspire today. In the past I have made aluminum parts using another software but I wanted to try Aspire for these parts because it is much easier to use. I had to come up with a postprocessor that worked on the machine (a Haas VFO). Since I cou...

Re: HAAS Post Processor

I just changed the metric post processor to inches today. Do what they say in the previous post but you also need to edit the G21 to read G20. This switched the units to inches from millimeters.

Re: Auto Z Plate from CNC Router Parts Problem

Double check that your machine coordinates and your material coordinates are accurate. If one is out of whack, the program can move in the wrong direction.

Re: Laptop specification.

Hi, If you want to use a laptop to control your CNC machine then I recommend you use a motion control device to eliminate your parallel port. The reason I say this is that most laptops (or computers for that matter ) no longer come with parallel ports as standard equipment. When you combine this wit...

Re: Aligning 3d components

You can also is the guide lines to set a location and lock them in place.

Import your 3D part and use the move tool to move it near the spot. As the part gets close the cursor will change to indicate when it is lined up on the intersection of the guide lines.

Re: Another sealing before finishing question

Danb, I did a series of blog posts about a year ago that dealt with exactly how I sealed the wood and finished it. Part 7-9 of my CNC sign Project deal with the actual finishing of the sign including some methods I tested that worked and some that didn't work. Here is a link to part seven. http://ww...

Re: Fluting help

Angie,

I have a specific reason for wanting to use a fluting path vs a profile. Thanks or the advice on the profile cut. I was familiar with that method.
