Re: Jack Lift Platform—Need help to build

Why not modify the jack then?
Is there a specific reason you need that shape for lifting?

Re: aluminum threads

My advice would be to purchase a lathe. You will find so many uses for it other than just this one job. Make sure the machine you buy has threading capability and has a hollow spindle shaft that will allow you to feed that size stock into the chuck. You will want minimal stickout of the stock for th...

Re: help with latge stencil

Included in the zip file is a really good user guide of how to use it. From memory I just generated a puzzle piece to the size I needed and saved the dxf file. Then you can open the dxf in Aspire and trim and join the vector to suit your job size etc. So for arguments sake, I generated this file and...

Re: help with latge stencil

I machined up a similar stencil for a mate of mine. 1/4" would be bordering on being to thick IMO. You'll get a crisper stencil with thinner material and it's easier to handle. If he's painting on curbs, a more flexible material will help with uneven surfaces etc. I also used a plastic material so t...

Re: Tapered Inlay (Paul Zank method) Plug with Rough Clearing: discussion

I disabled the 238 line of code to confirm the order and yes it is now ordering them as your "How it should look" image. Is it possible to have the ordering so that all the pocket toolpaths come first, then the V carve toolpaths last. I don't see that the toolpaths need to be performed in the altern...

Re: Tapered Inlay (Paul Zank method) Plug with Rough Clearing: discussion

One thing that I thought would be a good addition (if I can figure out how to effect it) would be an option to group the end mill toolpaths together and all the v-bit toolpaths together: That would be nice. I created a deep inlay job to test. The initial calculation spits out the toolpaths like thi...

I am reasonably confident that you can restore the line:

Code: Select all

g_toolpath_type = registry:GetString("ToolpathType", g_toolpath_type)
Yes, restoring this line didn't through up any errors and all worked fine.

Re: Tapered Inlay (Paul Zank method) Plug with Rough Clearing: discussion

Nicely noticed. Sometimes you just don't see the little things. Head smack. Well we now have the gadget working in Aspire 4.5. :D :D :D I've done a couple of simulation jobs and the previews look perfect. Thank you so much for creating the gadget and going the whole "Moby" for us. That's what I love...

Re: Tapered Inlay (Paul Zank method) Plug with Rough Clearing: discussion

Ok "Moby", I think I have done this correctly. Here is the adjusted lua file showing the 2x sections modified. My file is showing that line 277 is the one that matches your previous posting above, not 275. So going by the screen shot, have I done it correctly. The red circle is my cursor location to...

Re: Tapered Inlay (Paul Zank method) Plug with Rough Clearing: discussion

Hmmmm, still no go. I downloaded the new v1.45, unzipped the file and saved it in the gadget folder for Aspire 4.5. I took some screen shots to see if they help. Computer pathway.jpg Gadget select.jpg Error.jpg The error is the same as the original, so I'm thinking the typos were not the culprit. :(

You should get a pop-up showing the version number info. A screen shot of that would be great.
Here is the screen shot of the pop-up after I pasted the script.

Hope that means something to you. :D

Re: Tapered Inlay (Paul Zank method) Plug with Rough Clearing: discussion

Thanks for looking into this for us "Old version folk". I'm not clear exactly where to post the new script. Is it to go in the registry and if so where exactly? I can see the gadget in the registry list under the Aspire location, but not sure where or what to do with it. The registry is not an area ...
