Re: Desktop pro v 11.6 wrapping pp to control a axis feed rate

Since virtually every controller names, orients or controls rotary axes in a slightly different way, the pp would need to be designed specifically for each application. As you state there are numerous versions already, but you omit the specifics of your application. How about some details?

Re: Text is backwards on rotary axis

My take is that rather than a kludge, you should make it right. First make the rotation right. If the rotary axis runs along the Y axis, looking from the Y zero end, positive rotary motion should be clockwise. This is not the motor direction, as the motor can be on either end. The wrapped post proce...

Have you tried a tapered end mill? Like a tapered ball nose, but a flat tip.

Re: How to set three Safe Z Points?

Research these items:

1) RAPID_PLUNGE_TO_START_Z

2) Move the START Position to the center of material. (This is shown as Home/Start, but the term home is inaccurate and misleading)

No wink needed. If I posted a video, I was selling something. A product or a process, but selling something nonetheless. :P

Re: Is there a way to mimic the rounding toolpath rotary gadget with tapers?

Giving someone the answers to the test usually doesnt help them learn. The reality is that one the bit is positioned, your cone cuts with one line of code that can be entered manually into most controls. Look over the following. There are no feeds, speeds or setup calls and assumes Z ref is center o...

Re: Is there a way to mimic the rounding toolpath rotary gadget with tapers?

If you wish to take some time to learn a bit of hand coding you can cut your taper in a few minutes.

Continuous rotary turning as seen in the first minute of the video below would provide a short cut time and good finish.

Re: Feed rate drops at dogbone

Depending on the controller, your issue can be improved by adjusting the arc feed and centripetal settings.

That said, small radii on an 800 ipm line feed are going to be problematic unless you have lots of torque
