commemorative brick display
Hey gang, I am looking for some ideas to display a commemorative brick. Ideas anyone. I would prefer something that would set on a table, but wall mount ideas would also be appreciated. My creative talents are nil, and I haven't been able to get any inspiration online. I only have VCarve, and limite...

Re: Question on Toolpaths when importing 3D image.
Jim,
I don't have Cut3d, but if it is like 3d machinist then there is no reason to save the TOOLPATHS from cut3d if you are going to place it in vcarve. Vcarve does not use the saved toolpaths, it uses the toolpaths that are in the v3d file.

Re: A free Dollhouse project
Thank you very much for the free doll house. You can be sure I will be trying out. I am very interested in the other doll houses. I have 9 grandchildren 6 of which are girls so I can't make the same house for all of them. I noticed in your previous post the the largest doll houses have a 24x24 bigge...

Re: upgrade advise
After looking into it a bit more, I was mistaken. The integral current-set resistor is part of the db9 attached to the motor, not the cables.
Need to look into this more.

Re: upgrade advise
I like this thought. I could get: The larger power supply (cncrouterparts) gecko 540 (cncrouterparts) 3 cables with the resistors (cncrouterparts) smooth stepper (warp9) usb or eithernet?? for about the same as the kit I was looking at. The question I have is how do I know how to wire the current mo...

upgrade advise
I would like to add some upgrades to my machine and would like some suggestions on what to buy. I have about $700.00 to spend and would like to get the most upgrade for my money. I know this is going to be a personal decision, but I am hoping to get some ideas here for me to consider. I currently ha...

Re: Chipping using Plywood
So, in my mind, that means if my first pass depth would have to be more than .2 or it would be using the upcut portion of the bit and I would still get chipping. So I would either need my cut depth to be more that .2 and use a lead in, or I would have to offset outwards some on the first cut to get ...

Re: Chipping using Plywood
Don, I am really glad you brought up compression bits, as I have been wondering just how to use them when not cutting all the way through in a single pass. Does the transition from up to down happen in the middle of the cut length? I guess my question really is how deep do I have to cut in the first...
