Re: New Items
Mike, where did you get the sailfish, please? My neighbour is still floating on cloud nine after catching "The Ultimate Fish" in his little open tinnie on a handheld rod today :D I feel that I just HAVE to make him a plaque, he is such a nice person. Don, Just increase the shape height, you may nee...

Re: New Items
Don, If I understand your question correctly, the shape height of the texture componen was increased to make it more pronounced. That's where the problem came from. The texture was then too high in relationship to the flat top of the material. The slope shape needed to be lowered enough so the text...

The stools were a lot of work, setup, clamping, two-sided machining then more sanding and finishing than I like to do.
They did tun out ok.
Thanks,

Thank you Gordon!gordread wrote:Those look great. I wish my CNC was just a little bit bigger so that I could do these stools too. I can do the 18" stools, but the 24" stools are just a little too big for my 24" shark.

Re: New Items
Michael,
Thanks for posting the heads up on the 'bark' file. I've ran the bark 3 but not getting a defined texture. I've used 1/4" and 1/2" ball nose bits. Any tips on settings? Do you use the texture or 3d tool to create the tool path?

Cherry Bar/Kitchen Stools from Crawford Plans
IMG_1253.jpg I have completed a set of four Cherry Bar/Kitchen Stools for a client from the Russell Crawford Plans. As with the rocker plans Russell sells, the kitchen stool plans are on the mark as are the detailed instructional documentation. Russell warned me there is a lot of sanding. He is a m...

Completed Russell Crawford plan rocker
IMG_1082.jpg Hi all, I have completed the rocker from the Russell Crawford plans. The plans are well though out and I had no trouble machining the necessary jigs or components. I did have to raise the gantry 2.00" on my Techno LC4896 to get bit clearance for cutting the back slat mortises in the bo...

Re: Where is a good place to get CORIAN
I doubt you would ever get anyone on the phone at Dupont to assist. Try the link below http://www2.dupont.com/Surfaces/en_US/where_to_buy/order_a_sample.html It has been so long since I carved lithos that I cannot remember the settings. If I have them logged into my book I will post tomorrow. Regard...

Re: Where is a good place to get CORIAN
You can order Corian samples direct from Dupont in any color and quantity. The 4"x4" samples .25" thick if I recall are $2.00 each, the 10" x 10" are $13.50 each. I got a box of the Arctic White 4"x4" a year or so ago. I did my lithos leaving a full thickness border and routed deep enough for light ...

I also run a Techno, the LC4896, never had the issue you describe. As suggested try tech support.

Re: Buying Aspire vs Enroute for 3D
This forum alone is worth the price of Enroute. IMO you will not find a more active, user friendly and helpful forum than Vectric. Many knowledgeable users who will go out of their way to assist.

Re: Two sided tape.
Try Steve Galloway at Action CNC. I've been using the double sided tape he sells for several years.
