Re: UCCNC & Rotary Control
I ran both versions of your code. I could see no difference running between the two. Of course our machines and setup will be different so that may not mean much. Rotary max velocity 5000 units/min. (degrees) Have been using UCCNC for about seven years with rotary and had no issues, but again differ...

Quite impressive for your first rotary axis job. Well done.

Re: Using the 4th axis as an indexer
I have used my rotary axis many times as an indexer with surprisingly good results. I say surprisingly because it has no brake and does have a very small amount of backlash. Obviously this will have a lot to do with the size of jobs done and the level of precision that is acceptable. Back driving th...

Re: Woooden Threads
Thanks Jim.
Not that much different to single pointing a thread on the lathe.
Just with code instead of change gears.

Woooden Threads
As a hobbyist most of what I do on my CNC router is for my own interest or amusement. So I had a go at making a large wooden bolt. The only part that was done with Vectric was the internal thread of the nut. A few lines of hand written code for the rotary axis made the rest including the external th...

Re: Rotary Suggestion
Would you possibly have any insight on my question on how exactly I would insure the model was in the correct position in Vectric when I setup each toolpath?
One thing to look out for is the horse ears protruding further than the base. Add a temporary larger diameter base which can...

I wrote long answer to your thread. Then I reread you post and saw that I was saying what you already said.
So this is an edit.

Re: Nova Chuck for Axiom rotary
My suggestion would be to make or buy an adapter that stays on the 4th axis spindle. The aim being to make the 4th axis spindle the same thread as your wood lathe. I find this to be a real advantage with the 4th axis work that I do. Swapping a job to the lathe or 4th axis while maintaining setup can...

Aha so I am guessing Finley. Honestly though I am not trying to stalk you. :D I used to spend many a weekend on a property just south of Berigan. I also use UCCNC on two machines with AXBB-E and one with UC400ETH. And long been a Vectric user. Been building and operating CNC since 2006. Just a hobby...

I am guessing around Wagga Deniliquin. Spent a bit of time in that area in my youth.
I hope you have fun with your machine. A lot of satisfaction building it yourself.
