ramped cutting within "one step"
Hi. I would like to cut from "front to rear, rear to front, front to rear..." But the machine makes 3 cuts, then moves back to the "front" and then start the next 3 passes. Is there a way that the machine just moves on and does NOT start from the front? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KACWxE0OxLo Th...

Re: Default material colour and docking the layer window?
1. You can left click on the header part of the layer tab and, while holding the button down, drag the tab to wherever you want it. It can be floating or docked to the left or right side. Too bad. In V7 there was a dropdown menu and I only needed to hover over this menu and then select the layer. S...

Default material colour and docking the layer window?
Hi. I just bought the new V11.5 Version of vcarve. Good. Now the questions... 1. Is there any way to fix the "layers" window below the main window? I can only fix it to the right side of the normaler "drawing" window... but then the 2D Preview is much smaller. 2. Whenever I open Vcarve the material ...

THANKS TO ALL!
Using "Pass depth" solved the problem.

Re: Wrong height of tabs after second toolpath
Good idea with using the function to adjust the individual steps!
I think it might work like this, right?

(i had to upload the file to dropbox, because the forum upload has a limitation)

Re: Wrong height of tabs after second toolpath
Ha! I had to upgrade to version 11.5 before I can read the file. (actually iam using V7.5, as I need a special countersink gadget which only works with 7.5) Now I can open the file. But the problem is... when cutting 50 of these objects the machine will make 2 pathes, but direclty after each o...

Re: Wrong height of tabs after second toolpath
Why are you doing two separate toolpaths like that? Iam using a vacuum table, and cutting to the 4,1mm depth direclty would not work. All parts would fly away. :( (iam not cutting ONE simple rectangular, Iam cutting like 50 objects) So I first cut all objects 3,7mm... and at the end cut 0,4mm - but...

Wrong height of tabs after second toolpath
Hello. I want to cut material within two steps. First step with a cutting depth of 3,7mm. Second step with a cutting depth of 0,4 - startig at 3,7mm. (to cut through 4mm material) The problem is: The tab thickness is not correct at the second cut. No matter how I set the tab thickness... the tabs wi...

Re: How to delete overlapping (unneded) tool paths?
So.. making an outside contour by selecting all parts does not work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YO19zaRVkjE&ab_channel=FrankR%C3%B6llen But I was able to select one parts, make the outside contour (half of the cutter diameter) and then copy everything next to each other. But then... still doubl...

Re: How to delete overlapping (unneded) tool paths?
Thanks Phil. Hmm... but it still looks as some vectors are still cutted twice? Iam alway using a vacuum table, with a big vacuum pump and paper as sacrificial layer. I don't want to use double sided tape as it's more work to remove it compared to cutting it. The problem seems to be ONLY when the cut...

Re: How to delete overlapping (unneded) tool paths?
In this case it would only save time... but when cutting thin plastic material it does not work at all to cut vectors twice.
The material will flip away and it crashes all the time. Totally unusable.
When adding lines manually (middle line for both objects) it works fine all the time.

How to delete overlapping (unneded) tool paths?
Hi. When using the nesting tool I put parts next to each other and the distance between the parts is 2mm (same as the tool diameter). But, as shown in the example two lines are cutted twice. Which is not needed as it had been cutted already. Is there a simple method to let vcarve only cut what's rea...

Re: Using a roundover bit (Form Tool)... offset?
Yeah. That works. 8) So i always need to set it to inside and -2mm offset manually? Or.. is there a way to make it automatically? I would feel better if these parameters are saved constantly in the tool database. It seems that I can only use maximaum -2mm cutting depth with this tool. Otherwise you'...
