Re: I could use some help with this 3d texture file
I think I am missing something. I took the whole texture model and did the 3d cut on it and it shows only .48 cut depth thats good. but if I use vectors to only cut the parts I want it shows 1.2 depth. I have the boundry offset set to 0 so the bit should not be plunging down at the edge. I even gave...

I could use some help with this 3d texture file
I do so little 3d sometimes a year between them that I forgot how to do most things. I need to get the texture to cut at around 1/4" to 1/2" but its way deeper then that and my brain cant remember how to fix it. I always struggled with depth when I used 3d. https://www.dropbox.com/s/dmtxrppditqdloy/...

going fro ma shopbot to a big boy machine.
been using my shopbot for 8 years. I have a chance to run a laguna machine brand new with a 8 tool changer and a 12hp spindle and a huge vac setup. plus waterjet. using aspire on the laguna will make life much easier and shorten the learning curve. I just need to learn how the machine operates. I us...

Re: strange pocket error
here is a pic. we liked the lip this is a salt holder and the lip keeps the salt in. but the ballnose bit rubs under and on the shaft adding the lip. so the error was good but even when I got it to work without the notch the cut was too rough. http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s266/knighttoolworks/...

Re: strange pocket error
so I could also just use a 3/4" straight bit and it would work. but the cleanup pass takes too long adds too much cost.

Re: strange pocket error
When I have done this I have only done it with a straight bit. but the customer likes the lip it causes so now I need to do it with a regular toolpath. post pics in a little bit.

strange pocket error
this is on aspire 3.504 and it is a simple pocket with a ball nose bit. when I cut it to a depth of 1.5" with one toolpath it was fine. but there were toolmarks on the bottom. so I copied the toolpath told it to cut 1.45" deep then the second tool path to start a 1.45 and cut .05 with a much smaller...
