Coat Of Arms - "Aspire"-ing to improve all the time
Rhodesian Teak with Gold leaf and Antiquing gilding paste.
The model build was a lovely challenge. Still lots of room for improvement though!!
Hope it gives someone "Aspire"-ations!
Cheers Kevin

Re: The Biltong / Beef Jerky cutter
Great idea Mike. You could make three different attachments and attract even more customers. Nothing like having a little jerky and cheese with my cigar. What about a nut cracker? How're you going to get some guy to stand over the rig long enough to do the cracking!!!!!!!!!! :mrgree...

Lantern Bar Sign
HI all A healthy, wealthy and happy new year to all. A sad loss of Mr Chris Lovell who passed away peacfully 05-01-2015. (for the old UK master craftsmen and 3D modelmakers who would have been blessed to know him...) This sign is a result of the kind if collaboration which happens via this forum. A ...

Re: Home sign
Hi Rodger
Great Sign Master! Looks the business..... I finally did the Lantern Bar sign which you emailed me about, regarding the MAZAM font. You'll notice I node edited the font to be able to do a bolder raised prism. Don't think it came out to bad??
Cheers Kevin

Re: Aspire 5.0
I received a file to test from support which I couldn't open with Aspire 4.5. It was a Beta version 4.519, so they are obviously doing continual upgrades.

Re: engraving bit vs V bit?
When one gets to flat sided/spade mill bits, the minute degrees of side angle are mentioned, it's a v-bit...........the engraving bits that I have are all v-bits, whether it has one flat side or two. Please correct me if i'm mistaken. A traditional hand engraver uses tools that have v angles to atta...

Re: 3d alligator embossing plate for leather
Brilliantly done Nick! I bet there are a lot of guys ( incl yours truly) on this forum, who have been doing cnc for years, thinking to themselves, "why didn't I think of that???".
Just goes to show how truly versatile Aspire is!! Once again, well done Vectric!........

Re: Overlapping images
I often finish my carvings by hand as this adds an extra touch and dimension to my work. Don't be afraid to experiment.....you might be surprised at the outcome!!! good luck....

Re: Overlapping images
Unless you have a 5 -7 axis cnc you will not achieve this . Why dont you machine it, then hand carve or shape the under side??

Re: Engraving photo on granite Aspire 4.5
Hi Charlie Your original file is, I believe, a good starting point. I have run one test and demolished the first diamond bit in about 3 secs as the toolpath cuts the black in the contrast. The bit literally has to be in the air over the black parts and lower the Z as the greyscale changes. @zdgj02 I...
