Re: Z li it problem

Thanks for the help Steve, problem solved. Got the pen engraved and is OK but still need to tweak it some more. It's a lot of engraving for such a small area. I think it would work a lot better if I could figure out how to convert the image to a single line vector. But it's a start, again thanks for...

Z li it problem

I am attempting to use my rotary to try and engrave a pen blank. Not even sure it can be done, but trying. As you can see by the picture, I get a low Z limit just above the blank. I think the problem is the blue box next to the Z window. I think I need to turn that box off but can't figure out to do...

3D Fireman's Flag

Fresh off the CNC, a 3D Fireman's Flag. The wood is Cherry and with a light stain just to highlight the details. Will apply lacquer finish when dry. Thanks to MarshallCNC for the file, they are really super nice. I also did a flag with "VETERAN" that I donated to a friend that puts on a gumbo cook-o...

Re: salt boxes

Here are a couple spice boxes I have done for a spice store. The double one with "S" and "P" on them sell pretty good and I also do the "S" and "P" on a single box that sells well. The triple box for spices for chicken, pork and beef did not go over so I no longer do those. I also do quite a few sin...

graphic in stacked text sign

After finally getting the hang of doing stacked text, I have someone who wants to know if I can add a set of
3d weddings rings to their plaque at the top. I have tried everything, but can not seem to do it or if it's even possible.
Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Flip style display pen box

I make bolt action style pens using deer antler as the body of the pen and wanted a nice display box to showcase them, and this is what I came up with. The box goes from a closed storage box to an open display box and I engraved a deer head into it, filled with coffee grounds, soaked with CA glue, s...

Re: Antique Style Peppergrinder

I got mine from Pen State Industries and they go from 10.25 to 8.95 but have seen them on sale from other sites. I think Woodcraft also carry them.

Re: Project for customer

This is for a desk clock or to hang on the wall, not something that's wearable, although I have seen ones that are wearable made from wood, but don't know
how durable they are.

Re: Project for customer

I had considered that, but not sure the piece would stand up to the torque and stress of the
bit while cutting. I was thinking more in line of using the fluting setup and do one side, flip
and then do the other side, but not sure on how to set that up or if it's even possible to do.

Project for customer

I have V-Carve Pro v9 and would like to know if the watch that is pictured is something I could do or would I need to upgrade to Aspire. I am mainly concerned with the band for the watch. I would cut the profile for one side of the band, then flip the piece and do the other side. The watch body and ...

Great Nephew first ornament

We welcomed in a great-nephew on Thanksgiving day so I decided to make him his first Christmas ornament. It's from Design and Make and was done on my Stinger 1. The wood is Cherry, which is so nice to work with. I usually fill in my v-carving with coffee grounds and seal with CA glue, but decided to...

Paradise Box - sorta

One of the heart surgeons my daughter works for is retiring and the nurses have been telling him for years he needs a new box to store his loupes in. It's a wooden box and they no longer make them. So, guess who she comes to to make him a replacement as a retirement gift. The original is just a plai...

Re: Engraved Peppermill

Thanks for the comments. After doing the engraving using a v bit, I pack the coffee grounds into the engraved area and then soak with CA glue. Sometimes you may have to add additional grounds after sanding. I have used both, fresh and used grounds. If they are used, you have to let them dry out firs...

Engraved Peppermill

Finished up another engraved peppermill that was done on the rotary attachment. Filled in the engravings
with coffee grounds and CA glue. On one side is a LSU tiger head and on the opposite side is Louisiana
and Fleur-de-lis.
