Re: Nesting error

I finally got around to working on this again. Turns out that there was an extra vector not assigned to a layer that was clogging the works. It was one used for drawing that I was thinking might need a toolpath. After seeing the previews, it did not need a toolpath but I still neglected to delete. T...

Re: Nesting error

I am using version 4.5 so there could be a problem there but the problem likely is me. I will work with it over the weekend to see if I make any progress.

Re: Nesting error

Adrian, Thanks for the reply. I don't remember how to do screen shots, but it would not nest 2 on the sheet when it should have fit at least 8. After posting I decided to nest the parts without layering and was able to get 9 of each part on a 4X8 sheet. So I must be doing something wrong in my layer...

Re: Nesting error

I was correct in thinking it was my layering technique that caused the nesting problem. Will keep plugging away at the layering.

Thanks,
Dave

Nesting error

I have nested before with no problem but today I am getting "Failed to nest part 1 (650)" error message. I've changed all the parameters one at a time and still get this message. I have also gotten one the is (750). I've watched the tutorial on nesting by Vectric and shopbot and don't see where I'm ...

Re: Online Tutorials

Thank You Adrian. They were right where you said after I installed them from the disc. I knew operator error was the most likely culprit.

Re: Online Tutorials

I recently downloaded several tutorials but am unable to open them. Each time I try a message appears asking if I want the program to make changes to the computer. I click yes and another message pops up. It says welcome to the tutorial setup wizard and asks me to click next. That takes me to the li...

Re: Separating componetents

I would like to thank everyone for their help. The project was commissioned as a gift to be given Friday April 5th. I can now post pictures of the rendering and the finished product. This was my first attempt to separate a component from another component. Both files were from the Vectorart 3D colle...

Re: Separating componetents

Sorry for the delay. I have been able to separate the file I have. It still needs work but am confident that I will get it right by watching the tutorials. Adrian thanks for that heads-up. I looked on the DVD and did not find the tutorials. Turns out they were hiding in plain site, on the other DVD ...

Separating componetents

Hi All, I don't post very often and am not very good at 3D. I have a job coming up that requires me to separate components in an existing vectorart3d file. I have been unable to locate the right tutorial. Could some one please point me in the right direction?
TIA, Dave
