You might try recessing a piece of baltic birch ply into the back before engraving. Its surprisingly warp resistant.

Re: Router Running Mach3 on a Windows 8 Pro 64 bit laptop
I know this is an old post, but I have a Fuling too. How did you change the settings to go from 3 speed select to 0-10V analog? There are also three switches under the VFD faceplate that I can't find documentation for in their manual. Did you change those? Is this a DBZ312?

Re: Traversing guide
cover it with silicone mold compound (many choices from smooth-on). Slice down the side and remove to flatten it out. Now you have something you can 3d scan, flatbed scan, measure easily. Just a thought.

Re: A quick way to get rid of stray vectors
There is one thing... If the outline intersects ones of the smaller objects, it cuts it along the line. It was pretty fast to go along and delete the shrapnel, but is there a way to prevent that from happening in the first place? Hmmm, like maybe selecting the line and deleting the intersections and...

Re: A quick way to get rid of stray vectors
Is the keep vectors option a 4.0 improvement? I am on the previous version. Might be time to upgrade.
Nest makes things all irregular. It doesn't keep alignment on irregular shapes. It might still work well enough. Thanks. I totally didn't think of that.

A quick way to get rid of stray vectors
I have an irregular shape on screen. I overlay over this shape and array of small circles. Is there a way to get rid of the small circles that are outside of that shape and keep only the ones inside? You can do this sort of thing in Illustrator and other drawing programs, but is there a quick way to...

Re: Plexi mirror edge lit
This is very cool and I want to try some out. What kind of step overs are you using for the filled in parts? I suspect you are using pocketing. If so, are you using raster or offset?

Freckleface.com has lots of PVC, acrylic and acrylic tube. They also sell smaller scrap sized pieces in lots of 10 lb and 50 lb boxes.

A dremil mandrel with a piece of scotchbrite pad works almost as well as the mini sanding mops.

Re: Vacuum table powered with a shop vac
Standard shopvacs get a lot of their cooling air through air movement through the motor. You can feel the heat come off in the exhaust stream. Fein vacs are one of the few that cycles external air to prevent overheats if the air flow stops. It might work for a while, and maybe a long while, but its ...

Any chance of seeing 2013 user's group videos
Any chance of seeing 2012 user's group videos? I know this has been asked before, but no one from Vectric answered. Probably didn't notice because it was tagged into anothe thread.

Re: Aspire Upgrade?
I wish we in the states could pay up front before december 31 so we could claim the section 179 exemption on our taxes for 2012. For some of us, that would be a nice christmas present even if the product weren't ready to ship this calendar year. It's suspect its unlikely section 179 will be preserve...
