Re: One problem after another.
Yeah, I would like to see a SEARCH option. Sometimes you want to do something but you have no idea what icon to click on to find it.

Re: Error: No toolpath generated...
OK - I think I see the problem
Click on NODE edit - select one or both vectors
Look in the upper right area where the vertical and the arc "should" meet.
The vectors are not connected -- making it an open vector.
Adze beat me to the same conclusion

Bob,
There was no toolpath in that file.
What were you trying to do?

Re: LUBRICATING THE SCREWS AND RUNNERS
One good thing to remember One ounce of prevention is worth one pound of cure PM - stands for Preventative Maintenance. The like Adrain posted is great. Do more than that. At least once per year - SUPER clean the entire machine, check and replace belts, gears, etc. Check all electrical connections. ...

Hey there Jamie. Nice to hear from you. Do you remember me from the 2013 Indiana Sign Camp. I still use the stuff you and your wife taught us there.
Welcome back.

Re: Start Depth cant be negative?
Yeah, I can see what you want to do. No you cannot do that with start depth. Like Adrian said, start depth works this way Cut a pocket .5 deep Then after that you want a smaller pocket inside and deeper than the first pocket a 1/4 inch deep inside the botton of the first pocket If .5 material is alr...

Re: Lost 3D model
You may be able to go back into the original CRV file that you did a few years ago and get the model from there.

Re: Cut does not match the preview
I agree - it is not a 2" ball end mill - that is why the preview looks like it. Ohio has it correct as a radiused end mill. You just need to know what the radius is. The tool manufacturer should have that information on their website. If you have the tool number on the tool you should be able to do ...

Re: POST PROCESSOR WITH ROTARY AXIS AS B
I use Mach3 and A is the 4th axis.
I have a dedicated seperate drive for rotary so I do not swap axis's Still it is A
I think you may be able to change it in Mach 3 settings, but I am not sure exactly where.
GER21 is the Mach3 guy.
Have you asked the question on the Artsoft Mach3 forum?

Re: Cut does not match the preview
Phil you got the terminology right, but I agree, the preview looks like a 1/2 inch Ball. Either that or the preview is of a 100 inch diameter bowl.
Can you post the CRV - as long as there are no copy rights.

Re: Control 3D depth of cut
Phil,
Can you make a pocket around the outer perimeter? Like a ring about 1/4 or 3/8 inch larger that the carving. That would be a 2D pocket as deep as the carving.
Another option is to make the carving into a dish.

Re: Fuzzy Carving
Softwoods just plain old get the fuzzies - period.
I am working on some MDF right now and it gets something like fuzzies as well.
I did the 3D carving just like you did, but then I sprayed it down (soaked it) with rattle can Shellac.
Let dry really good and go over the carving again.

Re: EMCO f1 CNC with vcarve?
For the most part G-Code is pretty standardized. For a Mill, Machining Center, CNC Router, CNC Lathe it is pretty standard. Geometric - (geometry) - codes G0 or G00 means to move the machine as fast as it can go to a designated point - X, Y, and or Z G1 or G01 means to move the machine to a designat...

Re: EMCO f1 CNC with vcarve?
I am very familiar with Fanuc, and somewhat familiar with Hidenhein. Both are pretty generic G-Code. There are several Posts in Vectric that will work. The third control I have no knowledge of, but I would guess that it is also pretty generic G-Gode and again several of the Vectric post "should" wor...
