Re: Finishing path rounding sharp edges.
Thank you for your help and instructions. I have to try it out with different setting and see what happens. I have looked it up in the manual, but it is little over my head. Apparently I am not the only one, because they have supplement specifically for the CV settings, which offers simpler explanat...

Re: Finishing path rounding sharp edges.
Thank you. I thought there was a setting in Mach3 for that. I opened the General Configuration Menu and I see Motion Mode selection, either Constant Velocity or Exact Angle, I think I need to leave that on CV for now. Then I see CV Control on bottom right side and I think that is where you are sendi...

Re: Toolpath behavior
When you previewed the toolpath did you see the Z movement on the preview? I would try to import the model into the project file that worked OK, using the existing setting and toolpaths. Preview toolpaths for the the walnut size in that.

Finishing path rounding sharp edges.
I am hoping someone can help me with this. I am carving a section of a large turned column and square base for it. Using VCP to slice the model, roughing and finishing path. The problem I am having is that the finishing path is rounding edges which should be sharp. It creates problem when I join the...

Re: construction of 2 solid surface seam vac clamps
I was thinking of making set of these. The commercial version of these clamps cost about $ 600.00. Alternately you could use compressed air vacuum generators instead. Are you able to turn off the pump once vacuum is generated?

Re: Aluminum Plaque
Very nice. I have novice a question. After you apply the paint, how do you finish the surface. Is it fine sanded, wet sanded or milled?

Re: Fire rated Foam
You probably already found the answer, but I'll comment anyway. I don't think there is such a thing as Class A fire resistant foam. Class A is fire resistant sheeting is used in construction to provide FR separations or fire resistant fixtures. I use Class A particle board and MDF. Perhaps you could...

Re: vac press part1
A lot of the machines I have seen used something that looked more like a rubber sheeting. How about a membrane like they use in roofing? Do you have any builders or roofers up there that you could talk to? Former roofer here. The rubber roofing materials is EPDM Rubber roofing. Its a great, indestr...

Beautifully finished surface! I am also wondering how did you apply the finish. Would you mind explaining the process of covering the EPS with epoxy resin. Thanks.

Re: Ball screw, nut lubricant recommendations?
Thank you. For how long have you been using the dry graphite? Do you spray is on the ball screw directly?

Ball screw, nut lubricant recommendations?
I wonder what lubricant would be the best option? I use regular lithium grease. My ball screw nuts don't have grease fittings, so I just smear some grease on the ball screw and let the nut pick up the grease as it goes over it. It works, but the screws are sticky and dust sticks to them. I thought m...

Re: 2 Rail Sweep example
You did use the machining toolpaths. That was the only way I could think of doing something like that. The parts looked really smooth on your photos and I assumed you were able to cut the cove part using profile toolpath only. Thank you for taking time to explain.

Re: 2 Rail Sweep example
Thank you for the explanation. I am assuming you were using a ball end bit to cut the cove profile, which was not the same radius as the profile. If that is the case, I still don't understand how you use two rail sweep to model then profile and then used profile toolpath to cut the model. But as I s...
