Re: Selected Objects Size(could not enter a value)

Object size is informational only (try creating two different objects; select them; and view the (combined) object size).

Are you thinking of using the array copy to resize the circle? Resize it first with the Resize tool then array the resulting circle.

Perhaps nothing went wrong. If the space available within the pocket is twice the diameter of the tool or less it will look like a profile toolpath but in reality is a pocket toolpath.

Re: Asppire, error with rotary job

What was the image in: https://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php?p=274457#p274457 supposed to show? If the physical cut was bad how about an image of the piece as cut? I've never run a rotary job (no 4th axis) so I took your STL and pretended I had a lathe-type rotary tool. I guessed at the setup sett...

Re: Lettering depth issue

What am I missing? That for 2D operations VCarve doesn't care that there is a 3D model in place (unless you use the "Project to 3D" option in some toolpaths). That VCarve doesn't care whether or not you set the Z-zero to the top of the material or the bottom of the material when calculation starts ...

Re: Profile Toolpath Delimma

You say that the cut is shearing off the tabs but you don’t specificy how much it’s going into the spoilboard. Is the cut overcutting into the spoilboard by the amount of the tab thickness?

Re: Machine cut deeper

0.035mm is approximately 1/4 the thickness of a sheet of normal paper. 0.2mm is approximately twice the thickness of a sheet of normal paper. If your material is not held down firmly enough, the place the material is mounted is not parallel to the XY plane, or the material has variability in its thi...

Re: Vision 2550 with V4 controller Z depth not changing

Is your VCarve project file in inches but the Vision 2550 is set to mm ? If so telling the machine to go 1/8” will make it go 0.125mm (a small amount indeed).

Re: Cutting issues lines left in material

The stepover for the flat might be a contributor but most of the letters don’t have a flat. So I would lean toward a mismatch between what the bit is and what tool database entry says that it is. I would expect that it is an engraving bit that has been entered as a v-bit.

Re: Carving Detail

By "carved" I presume the "Finishing Toolpath". By "1/32 ball nose v bit" I presume you really mean "tapered ball nose bit". Of course, the tip should be able to get into areas where the 1/8" ball nose bit can't and thus improve the finish. The only spots it won't help much are those parts of the mo...

Are you using "Ramp over complete length" or "Ramp at Start" with a "Ramp %" less than 100?

Re: Tool Database

Until Vectric clears this up (as mentioned a couple of posts above) how about turning off the Online setting temporarily?

You could turn it back on just before you make a change to the tool database then turn it back off after it syncs.

Re: Box Creator and Dovetail will not start

Most likely you've actually installed the ones for VCarve 9.5 rather than the ones for 10.x. Generally speaking if it's a '.exe' file it's old and if it's '.vgadget' file it's new., This usually happens when folks use "Google" to search for the installers. Try the ones located at: https://gadgets.ve...
