Re: 4th Axis question

Both images show the stock being rotated around the x-axis. The help file emphasizes the axis that non-rotational moves will cut along—the x-axis—while the pop-up emphasizes that rotational moves will cut along the y-axis.

Re: Incorrect scale factor

To clarify FixitMike's suggestion: use a decimal scaling factor less than one (e.g. 0.65).

Re: Todd's Wonkey zero plane

I expect that it's simply a 2-rail sweep of that vector, that he pointed out, from front to back of the material. It's a modelled component acting as a "zero plane" and not an actual zero plane.

Re: Plane cut 3d model above a specific Z value

It's 3D - I scanned the hard case and imported the .stl . The cutout needs to fit the curved outer edges and the domed top of the guitar hard case. The project is not 3D because of the STL model it is 3D because of the arched top of the guitar case, which was not in evidence from the screenshots. M...

Re: Marine Digital Elevation Map DEM

I think Scott's point was that the information is available via a search engine such as Google or Bing or DuckDuckGo try the terms: bathymetry surveys bathymetric map to STL topological map to STL with sea floor Here's an interesting article: https://hi.stamen.com/creating-3d-bathymetric-maps-with-2...

Re: Problems V11

... STL file with layers ... Still seems odd that it would have those names to me but if it worked for you before then you're probably best to report it to Vectric. Adrian, I just tried importing an STL file as a rotary job into VCarve v9.5, The layers "Zero Plane" and "Bounding Box" were not in th...

Re: Geometry Zero

I can and will work around all of them, But it would all be so much eaiser if Vcarve could use the rhino cad zero for imported vectors and objects. Again, we're having trouble deciphering what you mean by "rhino cad zero". Is that Rhino's World Co-ordinate System (WCS) origin? Is that a point relat...

Re: Copy V10 Tool Data To V11

With changes to the tool database I doubt if you can just copy it over and have it work.

When installing the upgrade did it ask to migrate the took database over? If so this might be of use: https://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.ph ... 79#p276779

Re: vector validator

If you mean a text object then … once you convert that to vectors it can’t be edited. Always keep a copy of the original text in another, preferably locked, layer.

Re: Rest machine 3d finish path in v11

Much depends on you tool parameters. If you stepover is 1/10,000 of an inch it's going to take a long time to calculate. If it it's 1/1,000 not so much, if it's 1/100 then quick indeed.

Like what Martin said. Only solution: use a square-end cutter and accept that any preview will look wrong. Same thing goes for dovetail bits.
