Some use "Z" but T for thickness makes more sense to me.

First off I wouldn't use JPG—too much lossy artefacts.

Second an A4-sized image at 1200 "dpi" is 14032x9922 pixels in size. I'm not surprised VCarve choked.

I created a PNG image that size and got the same error. I resized it to half the dimensions (1/4 the area) and it imported just fine.

Another caveat regarding SVG files: sometimes SVGs created on a macOS machine loaded into Windows will need to be scaled to resolve poorly encoded "dots per inch" differences between macOS and Windows machines.
