Re: Geometry Zero

I can and will work around all of them, But it would all be so much eaiser if Vcarve could use the rhino cad zero for imported vectors and objects. Again, we're having trouble deciphering what you mean by "rhino cad zero". Is that Rhino's World Co-ordinate System (WCS) origin? Is that a point relat...

Re: Copy V10 Tool Data To V11

With changes to the tool database I doubt if you can just copy it over and have it work.

When installing the upgrade did it ask to migrate the took database over? If so this might be of use: https://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.ph ... 79#p276779

Re: vector validator

If you mean a text object then … once you convert that to vectors it can’t be edited. Always keep a copy of the original text in another, preferably locked, layer.

Re: Rest machine 3d finish path in v11

Much depends on you tool parameters. If you stepover is 1/10,000 of an inch it's going to take a long time to calculate. If it it's 1/1,000 not so much, if it's 1/100 then quick indeed.

Re: Create Form Tool in Tool Database

Like what Martin said. Only solution: use a square-end cutter and accept that any preview will look wrong. Same thing goes for dovetail bits.

Re: Geometry Zero

By "other CAM" I suspect you mean RhinoCAM. Similar to what FixitMike mentioned you could draw a box around all your geometry (using the BoundingBox command). The lower left corner will be your "CAD geometry zero". Export and then import into VCarve. You can now move the geometry plus bounding box t...

If a ramp always started on the "far side" of a tab how would the far side of the tab ever get cut vertically?

Re: Taxes

Technically speaking under the “old” rules you were required to self-asses and remit the HST for your digital puchases yourself—or at the very least the GST portion but not the PST portion (I live in a PST/GST split Province so I can’t say for sure). Individuals didn’t hence, I suspect, the rules we...

Re: How to assign color inside the toolpath

The “dummy” toolpath, for display purposes, that Adrian mentioned could have a depth set to 0.01mm (or 0.001 inches). This is so that the colour of the cut will register but the circle won’t noticebly change thickness.

Re: What is the correct way to cut this shape?

If you are looking for a result such as the deer in this post: https://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php?p=276493#p276493 then you have some work to do making the vectors acceptable for such a cut. If you are happy with something like martindg’s example then you have everything you need. I’d suggest d...

Re: Compairing "add dimensions" to object size

Remember that the object size tab shows the size of an imaginary rectangle around whatever is selected. If the object you are measuring is at a slight angle the sizes will differ when using the dimensions tool.

I wonder if it is a matter of snap-to tolerance not set or not set lose enough?
