Re: curve tool
Yeah. It would seem the small video I linked to demonstrating the Illustrator Curvature tool has disappeared. If I had a mind to I'd send in an explicit request for a replacement of the curve tool with something that behaves more like Curvature for a truly smooth curve and curve creation experience.

Re: Version 12 Modeling issue
Remember that 3D finishing toolpaths stop when the centre of the bit reaches the selected vector boundary + boundary offset. You have a boundary offset of 0 so the bit will not travel deeper than you see. If you make that boundary offset 0..24 you will get the effect you are looking for with the mod...

Re: 3d Question
On the "Design" tab is a section (below Offset and Layout) labelled 3D Model Tools.
Presumably it was moved there so that you don't have to click on the Component Tab then click on the icon in question.
As for the state of your vision only you and your ophthalmologist can answer that.

Re: curve tool
Bring back draw curve tool. Please. I disagree. That tool rarely produced useful curves that didn't need extensive editing due to the program trying to interpolate between your chosen end points. The changes to the "Draw Line" tool that Vectric made in v11.?? make it behave much like the "Pen" tool...

Re: 3d files
Define old? When I see a early 1980s Chrysler "K" car with collectors' plate on it I question what a really old vehicle is... You could go directly to "Thingiverse" If you just a broad search for STL files you'll probably get some suspect 3D model sites that merely wrap a Thingiverse link with their...

Re: V12 Array Preview Broken
People really do need to stop using terms like "broken" and "bug" in their post titles. How about "V12 Array Copy Toolpath possible problem" or "Array Copy Toolpath (v12): I'm seeing a strange behaviour"... Is the "Toggle toolpath 3D drawing visible" option (3rd icon in the upper left corner of the ...

Re: Bottoming out a collet nut
That information plus a good 6 inch (15cm) rule to measure the amount of the bit sticking out of the collet goes a long way to avoiding crashes. :D Thanks, Martin, for reminding me that this information exists. I keep forgetting to slow down and hover there and plenty other places in the software......

Re: Help with Roundover bit following edge of a chair seat
Because of the horn in the centre of the seat you'll probably also need two overlapping fluting paths.

Re: Version 12 Tool/Feature Name Changes (Be-Fuddling)
Everything seems to be a tad bit smaller. Do grade 9 writing teachers still warn against "everything", "all", "everyone knows"? Mine did. Of course, "most things", "it seems that" to me always (oops!) seem to be affected. Both programs on a Windows box set to 100% scale (i.e. no scaling). 9_5 vs ...

Re: V12 3D VIEW - Model displays as transparent
We might need an image. The dome below looks quite not transparent: no transparent.png Windows has a built-in snipping tool for taking screenshots and saving the image to a file. You can even draw highlights and annotations. The saved image file (png or jpg) can be uploaded as an attachment here...

Re: 3D view center point
I think I know what you have a problem with but it took poking around in the software and not reading anything here. Previous versions of Aspire / VCarve never had the ability to display the 2D vectors on the 3D view. Now it does. And software, being not very bright despite people slinging the terms...

All will be revealed in the Help menu. There should be an entry for "Tutorials" that will go to the local (your computer) repository for the tutorials.

Perhaps an example of what you consider bad syntax to be would help us?
