Re: Cribbage Board Donation
Fantastic work. I have an Alberta shaped board in the works as well. I am close to you, I drive to Drun once in awhile for something to do on the bike. Drop me a line...antennas@yahoo.com. I'd like to see your setup.

chamfered or beveled edge on letters
Anyone have a trick for Aspire to get a chamfered edge on a text component? I want to model it , not use a V bit toolpath after. I can get close but not exactly what I want. I got close with a U but the N is crazy town. I tried a 2 rail sweep and cutting the vector of the letter in half, didn't real...

Re: tap files
You can't. Tap files are just text G Code and have no similarity to project files.

Re: Laser, Aspire, Mach 3 and a diy CNC
Have a look at cncnuts youtube video on setting up a laser. It is what I Used and it works well. As long as you don't want teh z to go up and down to follow a 3d contour.

Re: help with inlay
Watch the V inlay tutorial and it will become clearer I think. It's just a V carve toolpath then flip your vectors and re-cut and a V carve but the male portion in a box. Glue.

Re: More Models
Wow really nice! I like the buffalo. Did you do some hand carving or add the horns after to get them done right?? I'd like to do a buffalo as well.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Aspire and Laser
Go to Peter Passullo's Youtube page and look for his CNC laser video. I Used it to hook min up. You use a post processor to turn the laser on and off . CNC nutz is channel name I think.

Re: looking for some help to get more detail
Just raise the model heights of those parts and they will literally stand out more.

Re: Painted Letters in Oak and Pine
You must seal them or they bleed. I use both shellac (dewaxed) and poly with success. Just use 2 or 3 coats sometimes. I don't think 1 coat of anything will seal it so it won't bleed.

Re: 3D Model on a curve
You need the model of the stock so it thinks it will cut it. But you don't need to actually cut it, just tool path it, so Aspire can then do your model in it. Set your Z at the top of the curve of the stock. Then put your model you want cut out onto the stock. Create a vector boundary around it then...
