Looking at pictures of the chess pieces there are some that will probably not allow complete machining on a rotary due to undercuts in the x/z plane where the bit tip can move (e.g. under the fins).

I can not confirm that for my machine (latest Win10). I can hover over the buttons until the cows come home and nothing happens.
Might have to do with your Windows emulator?

I agree. I use 2 other software packages regularly and one has the right mouse button for twiddling, the other has the mouse wheel push and Aspire had the left button. Now I have only right and middle, that is progress for me.
