Re: pricing

Here's another thread with a few of the variables; https://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=35507&p=261239&hilit=pricing#p261239 Most certainly not a sin to turn a job down after submitting a proto and a price. Pricing has many variables...and you always learn the Hard Way! Half up front is a g...

Re: pricing

Probably best to post the entire .crv file so people can see tool settings and cut strategy. It doesn't appear to have any copyrighted material, so you can attach it in this thread. Often dedicated jigging can cut setup times substantially on production items too. Have you seen the wood to be suppli...

Re: v11 rest machining question

Using VCP 11.006 here, but thinking the rest machining option is the same as Aspire(?). I'm doing a series of Tinys, and only spent about 6 hours trying this feature, but nothing I've tried so far gives me something that a single tool(30 engraving .005flat) toolpath in max preview is way better and ...

Re: "Harley Saga Tiny" OR "I must be Insane" :)

Hey Leo, Funny...searched before dawn for some new .125" shank .25mm TBNs as I THOUGHT I'd order a 5 pack! Turns out I bought 2 of the assortments(so much for my memory) Bloodwood is a Great wood for tiny details as it usually sinks in water, and grain is interlocked a bit. BUT very dulling o...

Re: "Harley Saga Tiny" OR "I must be Insane" :)

Thanks guys! Up at 3:30 before coffee trying to draw my offsets, and the .25mmTBN started cutting at 4am for this second pair..30engraving 2hr cut started 1/2 hr ago. Think I'll stick with only doing 1 pair at a time, as with the font, it's about 4.5 hrs. So 1 pair in the cool morning, and another a...

Re: Making Dish

Aah....I think you're more correct Steve.
At 4'ish when I looked at the pic the 2 closest edges looked as if as they went deeper,
there was a flat that got wider.
Just zoomed on pic and yours is keeping more with the pic.
Optical delusion before coffee fully consumed. :)

Re: "Harley Saga Tiny" OR "I must be Insane" :)

30 engraving done....hate the way the flash bounced on the fresh oil, but I can live with these.
Still has a trace of Bloodwood/Oil slurry that may brush out in a few hours.

Re: "Harley Saga Tiny" OR "I must be Insane" :)

It's begun  Bloodwood was taken town to .235" and then 220/400/600G, and a coat of linwax yesterday. Flatness IS king...should have skimmed spoilboard just before these cuts, as calipers show .23-.245" Bloodwood as mentioned were the striped culls from 50+ Ocooch 4X24X.25" blanks. But ...

Re: Scott 55

Shame about no berry picking this year Michael. It's a year of weather records, and that may be it. In recorded weather, #2 in least snow in March,#2 in hottest/driest June, and #2 in wettest July. And even moderate drought affects the 2 beekeepers I know, so maybe no pollination? drought 1 month ag...
