Update Trouble
I have Aspire 10 and every time I try to install the update I get a Runtime Error. Has anyone else had this problem?

Re: Notch in the Vector
Looks like mechanical deflection on the machine to me. What do you mean by a mechanical deflection? I’m thinking it mean that there’s a problem with the threaded rods or gears? It’s happening to all of the pockets in different direction so how would that relate to the deflection? Exactly what I sai...

Re: Notch in the Vector
I’m using the same PP as before for the Shark HD 2.0. That was one of the things I checked. I noticed the notch is the starting point for the cut. The green point on the vector. Would that be a reason for it? I’ll try to upload a photo. I’m using my iPhone at the moment.

Re: chamfer tool error
Are you referring to the point of the E, bottom right inside portion of the letter where there appears to be a rounded section of the vector? If that's the portion you're referring to it looks like the cut is avoiding the square corner just to the left to keep the detail intacked.

Notch in the Vector
I created a pocket for a project and there's a notch in the first pass. This happen previously but I found and fixed a problem with an extra point in the vector that created a z pattern in the vector. Now that it's fixed, I'm still getting a notch in the first pass of the pocket. The notch seems to ...

Re: Problem with Aspire 10.505
Hi Rick, Most likely a vector issue, is my guess. But could be a Post Processor issue. (Make SURE you are using the same Post Processor you used prior to 10.5) We could look at your file to see if all is well with the vectors, if you upload it or post a link to DropBox or similar service if the fil...

Re: Problem with Aspire 10.505
Yes it seems to have an issue with pocketing, at least for me. After multiple tries (thought it was something I was doing) I switched back to 10.0 and works fine with no error messages. There was an issue with pocket start depths being counted twice which was fixed in 10.503 (current is 10.505) so ...

Problem with Aspire 10.505
Has anyone found that they’re having problems with aspire 10.505 not cutting vectors properly? I made some pockets on a box and three of the corners were a nice sweeping curve but one corner was a sharp quarter inch curve. When I looked at the preview everything looked the same but when I cut it out...

CNC Mesquite
Hello everyone, I have a project I'm starting and the customer sent me some mesquite that I'm going to turn into a couple of fly boxes for him. I know mesquite is way up there on the hardness scale and if anyone has any tips on bit speeds and feed rates that you'd be willing to share I'd appreciate ...

Re: Cleanup Toolpath Question
Along the lines of a cleanup tool path, there are times when a tool can’t reach all the way into a cut and you’re left with a not so crisp image or carving. There’s a way to use a smaller tool to clean up those areas needing more machining with a smaller tool called rest machining. There is a tutori...
