Re: Two sided machining question
I found a generic picture, so anyways if I am understanding you correctly, If my dowell holes where are off center lets say 1/2 inch like the are in the photo the model would still be centered when flipped?

Re: Two sided machining question
I was hoping you would say no :( I have a rotary axis most of the way setup, Do you think I would be better with it than the other method? I am making corbels and the edge faces away from the wall making any inconsistencies stand out. I have previously machined them separately and glued them, but th...

Two sided machining question
Hello, I have watched a lot of tutorials on the two sided machining but still have a few questions. I am hoping to do a good number of 3d models cut on two sides, Is it necessary for the dowel hole cuts in the material to be dead center? I have two machines, one I would like to leave setup with the ...

Re: fonts
I like to go to a place called dafont, best thing about it is that you can type in whatever you want in the preview box.

Those look really amazing! You should put the plans up for sale somewhere, I would buy them.

Re: Name that tool!
Lathe dog is close to what I am wanting but not quite, here is a pic. What I am wanting to do away with is the walnut piece so I can have something more rigid.

Name that tool!
I have two questions, I am doing some two sided machining with a rotary axis and some manual coding, When you take a model and flip/copy on top of itself how do you hide one so the height alert will not come on when calculating tool paths, right now I am deleting and then undoing that delete but it ...

Re: Diamond Drag bit on Steel
Looks impressive, I purchased a ww bit a few years ago and was disappointed with how fast the tip was used up, however I was using it with glass. If I remember right you can purchase replacement bits off ebay quite a lot cheaper on ebay, the only thing missing is the keeper at the top.

Re: Home made glass tangent cutter
I will give that a try, looks like it will work better than what I have been doing. I have been jogging around trying different pressures, It seams I was much to forceful with it, a light touch is much better

Home made glass tangent cutter
The forum's have been looking a bit slow so I thought I would post a tangent cutter I have been working on. BILD0262.JPG BILD0261.JPG BILD0264.JPG One of the things I wanted was to be able to change from spindle to tangent without much fuss, the spindle clamps and a 4 pin trailer plug work well for ...

Re: Best china 4th axis?
Would it be possible cut the top, rotate the 4th axis 90 degrees and then cut the backside without using the unwrapper? A person could combine the tool paths and insert one line of code manually between top and bottom to rotate the a axis. It would be a little clunky I think but once it was setup yo...

Re: Best china 4th axis?
That's a really good deal on the rotary axis and I like the rail that comes with it also, unfortunately it has a limit of 5 inch on stock. I am wanting to be able to do something like this. horse_corbel.jpg I have tried two sided machining and am not very good at it. I hope to make lots of things th...

Re: Best china 4th axis?
I went to cnczone first but the fourms are down. I was unsure about the direct drive one however it is nema 34 which has about 27 pounds of holding force, not sure if that is enough.
