Picture format acceptable to Aspire

A friend sent me a pdf picture of a caligraphy project I want to carve. Can anyone tell me of a program to convert the pdf to a form Aspire will recognize? All I get is a notification that "the file probably contains only bitmap data". Or should I have him just save it all anew to the other format?

Conventional or Climb cutting

Trying to find the page where I adjust from these 2 cutting styles. I click on my toolpaths & it's not on either of the 2 pages this brings up. I also need to adjust my total cut depth, which, I believe is on the page. The underlying problem is that the program drives the tool in a path where the ed...

spindle direction travels backwards

Cutting a model with the "create 3d roughing tool path" tool. It cuts the centers out with a back/ forth raster movement which makes half moon knicks in the edge of the model. Then when it makes a final pass along the model's edge to clean this up, it travels backwards from convention. The edge of t...

Re: New to aspire.. trouble getting tool paths to take.

There is one question about stepdown values & z level passes posted here. Unfortunately, the only answer given "you have to set the stepdown value" defined the problem with the problem: not very helpful. I have been having some success getting my modeling to take. Now I can't calculate a toolpath be...

Re: The modeling is done. Now what? How is it converted to Gcode

Thanks Andy B. Just completed modeling project. The video I watched stopped at making the model. I didn't know about Roughing Toolpath. That was amazingly simple. Plus, I discovered I had locked the layer, so I was unable to proceed further on it. You just saved me a wealth of time, pointing me to t...

You lost me at "after setting cutting parameters". I modeled the line art in 3d, like the Itunes video told me. I see it looks like the sign I want in the 3d window. But this is as far as I've got.

The modeling is done. Now what? How is it converted to Gcode

I know this is a very routine matter. But, I'll be damned. It beats me to figure out how to proceed to start cutting ANYTHING. Please help.

How do I convert modeling drawings into Gcode?

I watched the Utube videos. OK. Its real easy to model a line drawing on Aspire. But, then what? I tried converting it to toolpaths & pocket paths. Still doesn't help me cut the design. So, how does it get to Gcode so the Mach3 will cut it?
