Re: NextWave's Chess pieces on a 4th axis rotary

You could just use the rotary as an automatic flipper. Meaning run the toolpaths with the 4th axis set, then put in the command to rotate 190, then run the second set. You could then put all the toolpaths with the same bit in a single file, just manually insert that rotate command. Don't forget to r...

Re: issue with 4th axis project

this is my first project with this process. somehow the resultant .tap code has Z co-ords that do not make sense. I am using current 10.5 Aspire and the CNC is a NWA Shark Pro. The piece to carve is a 1.25in dia x 7in long dowel that I want to carve "TEST" into it. I am using a 60Deg V bit and the ...

Is it possible to invert a model?

Happy new year all, I have a model that is typical and carves well. What I'm trying to do now is create a mold (inverse ) of the model. So what is now the shallowest Z would become the deepest Z. Then a casting can be made. If I were able to reverse the Z axis I would think that would do it. Any ide...

Re: Pumpkin I

You're clearly a better painter than I am... nice job.

I was thinking about what kind of jig I would have to make to have my CNC actually do my pumpkin carving for me.....

Re: My version of a tool tray

Steve, yes as I use it I see changes I would do next time. So far the scratches have been a minimum, but it sure is a chip collector, and my 'misc' tray is overflowing.
That said, I really do like having it.

Another great event, I think this has been the best I've attended. The presentations were all great, the guest speakers were all polished and really interesting. The Vectric team continues to impress me, they strive each time to do better than the last, and of course every one of them is really wond...

Re: A Rotary Project: Barley Twist Table

About the only thing I can think of is that you are either having an interference (noise) issue or you have a motor that is going bad or is just too weak to turn the mass. Ahh, one other thing, I know nothing about the stingers but is it possible you have the accels/decels set too high? Ted, thank ...
