Thanks for the info Martin
I did as you suggested and now Aspire reports 8.514 so I think I'm up to date again.
Can't explain why 'Check for updates' failed to work though.
Thanks again

Aspire update issue
Hi Folks My Aspire program reports I'm using 8.505 so I thought I'd update to 8.514. When I run 'check for updates' it reports 'update.exe' does not exist so I thought I'd logon to the Vectric site and update from there, however that reports that my software is up to date. I'm confused. Can anybody ...

....second thoughts... Having re-read your question I can see the problem. My suggestion doesn't work.

If I'm not mistaken you can set the material colour and the toolpath colour in Preview Toolpaths

....or reduce your JOB SIZE (x & y) so that it's close to the size of your model.
If your model is small in relation to the job size it can have the same pixilated effect,
Good Luck

Re: Circles array from corner point?
I'm not an expert here, but one easy way is to use the Offset Selected Vectors icon and create a new profile 1/4" inboard of your existing.
Then you just use the normal Circle icon to snap to the corners of the newly created profile.
Good luck.
Whoops, someone beat me to it

Re: 2 rail sweep
Are you just wanting to model the straight portion? If so you could use the extrude option (next to two rail sweep).
You then just need 2 objects...
1. A line to represent the vector length and direction
2. A cross sectional curve that will be extruded along the line.
Hope this helps.

Re: To sweep or not to sweep...
It depends on your size... but have you tried V-Carve/Engraving Toolpath.
I just did a quick test and it works fine with a 90deg 'V' bit.

Re: Problem with engraving cutter
Might have nothing to do with it, but you have 'Project Toolpath on to 3D Model' selected?
Is it necessary for this job?
Cheers....

Re: help with crests please
Hi Alex
If you look in the Aspire - 'Gallery'
under the topic = 'Another Coat of Arms'
you will see the Crest I created for a friend making use of some of the Aspire clipart as Phil suggests.
Good luck,
Alan

Re: Salt Boxes
I had a PM asking how I created the geometry in VCP The attached file shows the steps. I've used Layers to show the sequence. (show the layers one-by-one for best effect) Layer 1 - Create two circles Layer 2 - Add the third circle and line Layer 3 - Mirror the left circle about the right hand line L...
