I did as you suggested and now Aspire reports 8.514 so I think I'm up to date again.
Can't explain why 'Check for updates' failed to work though.

When I run 'check for updates' it reports 'update.exe' does not exist so I thought I'd logon to the Vectric site and update from there, however that reports that my software is up to date. ....second thoughts... Having re-read your question I can see the problem. My suggestion doesn't work.

If I'm not mistaken you can set the material colour and the toolpath colour in Preview Toolpaths

....or reduce your JOB SIZE (x & y) so that it's close to the size of your model.
If your model is small in relation to the job size it can have the same pixilated effect,

Yes, a conventional oven was used at 150 C for 15 minutes.

I used two tubes to assist the forming.

Inspired by James' recent live tutorial, I created this Tea Light holder to test the process.

What style cutter will you be using?

I'm not an expert here, but one easy way is to use the Offset Selected Vectors icon and create a new profile 1/4" inboard of your existing.
Then you just use the normal Circle icon to snap to the corners of the newly created profile.

Are you just wanting to model the straight portion? If so you could use the extrude option (next to two rail sweep).
You then just need 2 objects...
1. A line to represent the vector length and direction
2. A cross sectional curve that will be extruded along the line.
Hope this helps.

It depends on your size... but have you tried V-Carve/Engraving Toolpath.
I just did a quick test and it works fine with a 90deg 'V' bit.

Might have nothing to do with it, but you have 'Project Toolpath on to 3D Model' selected?
Is it necessary for this job?

you will see the Crest I created for a friend making use of some of the Aspire clipart as Phil suggests.
