Re: Time for a new machine; CAMaster vs Axiom Precision

You should check out ShopSabre they build a solid ball screw machine in USA and Price is good:-) that is what i got after looking at a ton of machines a year or two ago and love it. going from Mach 3 to Win CNC was a bit of a change (no 3rd party plugins like JoyPad or Cameras) but if you aren't use...

Re: Pockets not deep enough

it's east to check
just zero the bit on the material then move it up until the DRO says 1.00 then measure the distance it went up with a ruler and see if it is close to 1" if not you will need to calibrate the Z axis

Re: Dust shoe for HSD 915 Tool Changer.

How do you like in now that you have had it a bit?
Where did you get the new holders or did you make them?
My IS 510 should be here next week and i am worried about the standard dust shoe not working well enough and this may be the ticket:-)

Re: Connect Four

I made a few for my brothers wedding a few weeks ago and they came out great
I made a slider thing to hold the circles in but all the weight makes it hard to move so i think next time ill do some kind of drop gate or something like that

Re: 5 hp or 10 hp spindle?

ya i know with regular motors they will draw a big chunk of the power even without much load but i don't know much about the VFD Driven ones if that is the case i would just get the 10 hp and be done with it but i can't find any info on it (i guess i could clamp a meter to our current one and run a ...

Re: 5 hp or 10 hp spindle?

I am used to cutting at 150in/min now so would be happy with 600 but i also like the idea of it not having to work hard for longer life but at the same time if it will use almost twice the electric is it worth it?

5 hp or 10 hp spindle?

Do any of you have a 5 hp ATC spindle? i am trying to decide what to get on our new machine (Shopsabre IS 510) and it's only $1800 more to got to the 10 HP ATC but most of the stuff we cut is 3/4 ply or 3/4 hard wood or v-carving poly so i would think the 5 hp would be fine if it would come in handy...

Re: Anyone Use Wincnc?

Thanks Guys i was worried but it sounds like it should be fine IslaWW I have used a webcam for positioning and diagnostics, but not on a day to day basis. WinCNC has an Opti-Scout option that will located registration marks and even stretch/skew the cut to match positioning of the graphics. Also cut...

Re: 8.5 Node Edit Error?

8.5 Node Edit Error?

Does anyone else have this issue? When you are in node edit mode (n) and you select several nodes then press (x) to view the properties/move them it seems to delete a point (unless you click on the start point) it works fine if you just have one highlighted and it works fine if you right click and s...

Re: Laser Engraver/Cutter Recommendations

I looked into a lot of them and went with the 120w Trortec as i liked the ceramic laser and it is crazy fast and with protected slides i think it will last a long time (it didn't require a chiller either.) i do think epilog has a better control panel (more buttons) on the laser but the Trotec one wo...
