Adrian,

Do you know what file type will work with Aspire 3.5?

Seeking Open Book Model

I am seeking an open book model to work with Aspire 3.5. The model would look like an open book that is sitting directly in front of you on a table. The pages would be shaped and sloped to the outside

Can you lead me in a direction to find one? Thanks.

Ugly edge

Can anyone tell me why this keeps happening? I'm creating a negative shape, but when I preview the rough and finish I get this ugly corrugated edge with a 1/8" ball nose bit at the outside of the shape. See attachments.

Re: Boundary Vector

4D,

I'm assuming you have version 9 with the molding toolpath. Unfortunately I have version 8 but thanks for sending the attachment anyway.

Re: Boundary Vector

Sorry guys, I didn't explain myself well enough. The 22.5 degree joint runs along the end grain. That's why I figured to go 3d on a cnc. See photo below. I'm using Bamboo plywood. I'm probably just going to back to the table saw. IMG_3046.JPG The chair design is by Gerit Rietveld, Dutch designer.

Re: Boundary Vector

Thanks for the 2D suggestions. Can you help me as to how I can get a 22.5 degree angle using 2D?

I need two 22.5 degree angles to make a 45 degree outside angle. See photo below...

Re: Boundary Vector

TReishl, Thanks for the reply. It was what I expected. I am trying to make a zig zag chair and I need 22.5 angles and I need the profile to be dead on. My first attempt was off a little and I thought the boundary vector might be one of the culprits. I guess I'll just adjust the boundary vector manua...

Boundary Vector

Hello, Not sure if I am the only one with this issue or I should not be concerned about this. However I am looking for extremely accurate cut. When I create a boundary vector around a component, the boundary is off and does not follow the component's edge. Its off about .006 to .01 on all sides. See...

Re: Convert file to DXF?

I forgot to mention that I am giving the file to someone who needs it in dxf form.

Convert file to DXF?

I own a shopbot cnc and purchased the Aspire software with it. When I go to save the machining file it does not contain a dxf extension choice. Can I convert one of the extensions to a dxf file?

Overlapping function?

Hi I only did this once before...I have a project that is too large (width) for my cnc. Its been a long time but I believe the last time I used an overlapping function in Aspire to create two overlapping toolpaths. I cut the first half, then slid the wood down and cut the second half and as a result...

Re: Vertical Name tags

The "text within a box" fonts do not include ones with "@" prefix. When I tried it with the regular text function the name does not center itself within the oval profile I created.

Vertical Name tags

I am trying to use the plate production function to make wooden name tags in a vertical orientation. But when I click apply the oval profiles remain vertical but the names switch to a horizontal orientation. Is there a way to have the names remain in a vertical position??

Hi Adrian,

Got it to work, I misunderstood, the gadgets update worked it out.

Thanks
